Day 1…

I know Veteran’s Day was actually yesterday, but since it’s being observed today, I’d like us all to remember especially today the souls of those who died defending our freedom.

God bless!

Day 2

Woe to me, unhappy being, so many years have I already spent on earth and have earned naught but hell! I give Thee thanks, O Lord, for granting me time even now to atone for my sins. My good God, I am heartily sorry for having offended Thee. Send me Thy assistance, that I may apply the time yet remaining to me for Thy love and service; have compassion on me, and, at the same time, on the holy souls suffering in Purgatory. O Mary, Mother of God, come to their assistance with thy powerful intercession.

Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Prayer to Our Suffering Savior for the Holy Souls in Purgatory

O most sweet Jesus, through the bloody sweat which Thou didst suffer in the Garden of Gethsemane, have mercy on these Blessed Souls. Have mercy on them.

Have mercy on them, O Lord.

O most sweet Jesus, through the pains which Thou didst suffer during Thy most cruel scourging, have mercy on them.

Have mercy on them, O Lord.

O most sweet Jesus, through the pains which Thou didst suffer in Thy most painful crowning with thorns, have mercy on them.

Have mercy on them, O Lord.

O most sweet Jesus, through the pains which Thou didst suffer in carrying Thy cross to Calvary, have mercy on them.

Have mercy on them, O Lord.

O most sweet Jesus, through the pains which Thou didst suffer during Thy most cruel Crucifixion, have mercy on them.

Have mercy on them, O Lord.

O most sweet Jesus, through the pains which Thou didst suffer in Thy most bitter agony on the Cross, have mercy on them.

Have mercy on them, O Lord.

O most sweet Jesus, through the immense pain which Thou didst suffer in breathing forth Thy Blessed Soul, have mercy on them.

Have mercy on them, O Lord.

Eternal rest grant to them O Lord, let perpetual light shine upon them. May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God rest in peace. Amen. Lord, grant Your forgiveness to Rick S.

Blessed Souls, I have prayed for thee; I entreat thee, who are so dear to God, and who are secure of never losing Him, to pray for me a miserable sinner, who is in danger of being damned, and of losing God forever. Amen.

Thank you for giving my this important opportunity I will start this novena today.
I also thank the initiator of this prayer for the Holy Souls in Purgatory.
I am on day two.
GraceAngel.

I started my remembrance of those who passed away this past year on ‘All Souls Day’. In fact this November 17th will be the first anniversary of the passing of my husband. We were married 22 years and his loss will be especially painful on that day for me.

Last Sunday my church had its ‘Remembrance Ceremony’ to which I was invited and also asked to invite family members who might also wish to attend. Although my husband and I do not have nearby family my niece did travel across two states to join with me.

I was called up to the altar to light the candle as well as drop some incense into the bowl. It was a thankful moment and I do appreciate my parish priests comforting words that followed. In fact they brought tears to my eyes, yet also lessened the pain of loss.

I will join in this novena for those poor souls languishing in purgatory. God bless them all. My prayers will be with them.

I am so sorry about your husband. You both are in my prayers, and I will remember him when I say this novena again tomorrow.:console:

The Church has dedicated the month of November to the Holy Souls in Purgatory. Who will join me in saying a nine day novena, written by St. Alphonsus Liguori, for these Holy Souls? The Novena, which only takes 3 minutes to say, can be found here. Thank you.
God Bless
In Jesus through Mary

Steve, it takes but one spark to ignite the flames of faith. Your mercy and love reflect the face of our Savior. Christ’s peace, my brother.
