"Novena Never Known to Fail" on Holy Cards

My understanding is prayers are more powerful with more faith. Also the holier you become the more united your will becomes with God’s. So when your very holy your prayer is more likely to be what God wants and your faith more lively and effective.
Then again holy people usually pray God’s will be done. Jesus showed us how to pray in the garden, " …nevertheless not my will but thine be done." We should add this clause after our intention. This way we can be sure our request will always be granted. At least Gods will, will be done.

I voted ‘no’ on this one. I personally wouldn’t normally use these novenas, but it is clear that they are quite popular as the prayers are frequently printed in newspapers as thanksgivings. I don’t think that claiming that a novena has never been known to fail is superstitious. Every prayer we make - from such novenas to prayers of the faithful at Mass - are based on hope and trust in God that He will answer our prayers. The question is, then, in offering a prayer to God, do you really trust that He will answer your prayer in the way He knows is the best way, or do you think that God is only right when His answer fits in with your plans? If you leave your prayer with God and put your trust in Him completely, He will always answer your prayer - whether it’s in the way you expected or whether it seems like God has said ‘no’. The basis of the prayer should be trust in God- entrusting our needs and the needs of others to the will of God. If this trust is absent, the person is using the novena prayer superstitiously- but it is not the fault of the claim made on the card; rather it’s the result of a person’s misunderstanding and mistrust of the wisdom of God.
