:extrahappy::extrahappy::extrahappy:I have mentioned my desire to enter the secular order to my director a few months ago and i must admit, the ‘feeling’ has not gone away. I just feel so called! I have read much of St john o fthe Cross, St Terese, Edith Stein, etc. I also do the liturgy of hours, etc etc etc

It was my pleasure. I am happy for you, and have prayed for you on your journey.

Praying the LotH is a huge “step up” in joining any Community/Third Order, etc (or it is in all the ones I’m aware of).

Just be honest about yourself. Married (or not). Children (or not). Regular Mass participation; spiritual life (LotH, Rosary, etc). Why you feel called to the Carmelites in particular (ie, which charism(s) draw(s) you).

It will help tremendously if you get a short letter “of character” from your Parish Priest and/or Spiritual Director.

That’s great Luigi! I have had a spiritual director for 25 years and a pastor for 11 years…so they should find some good about me!😉 But then again, on the other hand…:eek:

I am a lay Benedictine. We are called Oblates. It is similar to a Third Order (sort of) 🙂

Incidentally, my monastery uses a unique (I think) way of praying the LotH. Very beautiful.
I am very happy 🙂
