A further update (and why I changed my av). The Monastery of the Risen Christ (up to 4 monks-3 priests and a brotherAn update
As you may know, the Monastery of the Risen Christ has been closed (there are 2 monks still there, though. I know that financial help would be appreciated).
Our oblature is being transferred to New Camaldoli Hermitage on Sunday, July 14, 2013.
I (and we) would deeply appreciate your prayers.
Thank you!
Thank you! Prayers offeredMay God bless you and may st. Benedict’s Rule guide you.
Pray for me as I continue discernment to the Society of Jesus.
Favorite part of the day: Lauds. How’s it going Luigi Daniele? I’ve only just now seen this thread… You started the Novitiate in 2010, are you finished now? Is monastic life as rewarding as you expected? What’s your favorite part of the day?
I did so only because the monastery was “closed” (they basically “let go” of their oblates). I attempted a return to the Franciscans because I need that 1 day per month to keep me Faith focused (I enjoy “talking things out”. Obviously, this is in addition to the supremely important assisting at Mass). I attended several meetings, but have never been “back” officially.Luigi, you confuse me. I thought you had gone back to your original status as a Secular Franciscan.
Thank you!Glad to hear the good news! Where is this monastery, Luigi?
Oh I’ve seen pictures of that monastery! I’d love to attend a retreat there some day.Thank you!
It is in San Luis Obispo. It is, for now, a “satellite” of the Camaldolese monastery in Big Sur.
