Found this out on Worldnet Daily:

After monitoring its construction for several months, federal agents arrested three Canadians in connection with an elaborate smuggling tunnel at the U.S.-Canada border in Washington state.

I am wondering if it was not actually an escape tunnel.

For me living on the Great Lakes, makes me wonder about the ferry boats that travel between the shores of Ontario and New York and other states here?

The good news is that Canadian Border Services were the first ones to spot it, and they alerted the joint border enforcement groups (Mounties, FBI, US Border Patrol, Customs, etc.) They had these bozos pegged for months, even putting cameras in the tunnel, and tracing their movements. A good job all around.

One nice touch. They arranged to nab the guys in Blaine, WA, so they face trial in the US, where the penalties are stiffer. Sweet!

From the news up here in Vancouver BC, this is no local little initiative. There’s a big international outfit behind this, but beyond conceding that, no one is saying much (makes sense).

Oh, and about the escape tunnel? Why bother? In a few years we might qualify as legit refugees. But there’s a few shots left in this war yet.

Blessings,

Gerry

It has to be an international initiative. We can’t have anyone saying Canadians have initiative, can we? :o 😉

Totally. The new Underground Railroad. Literally. I have started having fantasies of running a hotdog stand in New York.

I haven’t a clue what’s going to happen next.

Btw. Speaking about Canadian initiative: a few years back there was an absolutely enormous homegrow busted north of Toronto. Folks had taken over an entire old beer brewery.
