**(CBS/AP) **Experiments with high explosives, possibly linked to future nuclear weapons tests, were carried out as recently as 2003 in Iran, sources tell CBS News.

International Atomic Energy Agency analysts said they suspect the experiments took place at a huge military complex south of Tehran. Inspectors were permitted only one visit, and saw only part of the site, reports CBS News correspondent Sheila MacVicar.

Despite the lack of access, Sean McCormack, a U.S. State Department spokesman, said, “we are seeing more and more indications” that Iran’s enrichment activities have the intended purpose of building a nuclear weapon.

Good for them.

The sooner they achieve that level of weapons technology sufficient for the defense of their nation, the sooner the Church will be put at ease in this concern.

The ‘Church’ will be put at ease in this concern. Which ‘Church’ would that be?

The sooner they achieve that level of technology, the sooner Tel Aviv will turn into a huge mirror. Andy, do you really think they want nukes only for a deterrent and not to wipe Israel off the map?

Now I wonder which super intelligent organisation is saying that explosions are “POSSIBLY” linked to nuclear testing? Wouldn’t be the same lot who decided about WMD’s by any chance?

I suspect we are about to see what happens when “The pigeons come home to roost” People who where maybe just a little skeptical last time are more likely to be absolutely anti this time round.

I am afraid you are sorely mistaken, if you think that Iran, under it’s current leadership, simply wants to defend itself. The danger of nuclear war in the future is very real, and nuclear bombs don’t just start house fires and break windows, if one goes off over a major city, millions of people will die in less than a second.

Of course one thing that has changed since 2003 is the issuance of a fatwa against the creation, stockpiling, or use, of nuclear weapons, by the Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Khamenei.

Ani Ibi:

The Catholic Church.

Catechism rule 2309, states that no nation can administer “evils and disorders” greater than the aggressor nation, in order for it to persuade the aggressor to back off.

The implication is that nations can have that level of defense in armaments, but not over. If this were not so, then all nations who do not possess the most effective weapon available could never realize the objective this rule addresses, which is to remain existant.

In conclusion it behooves Iran and every other nation to be at par militarily with the most advanced nation militarily. Only then can there be a level playing field for deterrance.

Nuclear chief tells Iran: you have a month to co-operate By Sam Knight and Agencies

The head of the world’s atomic watchdog told Iran today that it has a month to co-operate with the international community over its nuclear programme before facing action at the UN Security Council

At a meeting today of world powers at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in Vienna, Mohamed ElBaradei, the agency chief, said there was one last “window of opportunity” for Iran to co-operate. “We are reaching a critical phase but it is not a crisis,” Dr ElBaradei told reporters. On Monday, diplomats from the five permanent members of the UN Security Council - the US, UK, France, Russia and China - agreed that Iran must stop enriching uranium and allow UN inspectors into its nuclear sites or be referred to the UN Security Council.
