NEW YORK (AP) — The intense debate over a proposed Islamic community center and mosque near ground zero has jeopardized New Yorkers’ sense of tolerance and unity, the leader of the area’s Roman Catholics said Tuesday.
Archbishop Dolan is a very, very good man. He’s also very committed to the Catholic school system, which is refreshing to hear; I’m very excited and happy that he’s the Archbishop of New York.
