President Obama “reinforced” his stance on the controversial contraception mandate while speaking at the Democrats’ annual retreat at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C. today, Senate Democrats said.

The retreat was closed to media.

Following President Obama’s speech at the retreat, a small group of Senate Democrats, mostly women, left the retreat early in order to hold a news conference on Capitol Hill to counter the Republicans’ news conference today at which they called for the mandate to be overturned…

“The power to decide whether or not to use contraception lies with a woman – not her boss,” said Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y. “What is more intrusive than trying to allow an employer to make medical decisions for someone who works for them?”

Nevertheless, her boss is expected to pay for her birth control pills - I get it now.

See how the right to do something has now morphed into the right to force someone to pay for them?

First of all, it isn’t just contraception. Though the mouthpieces for Obama keep saying it that way, it’s also abortion and sterilization.

Second, women have a choice in their employment. If getting free contraception and abortions is sufficiently important to them that they won’t work without it, they can choose another employer. The Catholic institutions, however, have NO choice in the matter under the Obama Doctrine. When you put “no copays” into one side of the balance and “violation of conscience” into the other side, the “no copays” side really doesn’t measure up.

See how the right to do something has now morphed into the right to force someone to pay for them?
Also, the right for contraception has morphed into the right to coerce pharmacists to fill prescriptions for abortive/contraceptive pills - see state regulations passed in Illinois and Washington by governors Rod Blagojevich and Christine Gregoire. Pharmacists who do not comply get their licenses revoked; pharmacies that do not stock and dispense this stuff are forced to close down per state regulations passed in Illinois and Wash. (but the thing passed by Blago in Illinois was recently overturned by a judge, and Blago went to jail on unrelated issues).

Make no mistake, this is exactly what Obama and his comrades want next: force all healthcare professionals to provide immoral services, or else they lose their licenses and are forced to close their pharmacies/clinics/hospitals.

We can put an end to all of this in the voting booth this November!!!

To Sen. Gillibrand: “What is more intrusive than forcing other citizens to violate their consciences by being forced to pay for things that are against their religious beliefs?”

What do the lefties mean when they say, “Catholic institutions are paying for B.C. anyway”
in their current health care plans?

Catholics ignore the faith–so why shouldn’t politicians ignore Catholics?

I hope every Catholic institution files suit to stop this HHS mandate.

And if the mandate is not overturned, I hope every Catholic institution will refuse to comply with it, and also refuse to pay fines.

Once religious freedom is relinquished, further federal tyrrany is assured.

I had hoped and prayed that President Obama would moderate in his views once in office, but I am saddened to note that he has become more radical, and extreme, than even my worst fears could have imagined. As a practicing Roman Catholic, I cannot, in good conscience, consider voting for someone whose views are in diametrical opposition to those held by my religion, and myself.

However, I do not appraise his likely opponent, Mitt Romney, as being a person of heightened spiritual or moral character, nor do I easily overlook his mercenary tendencies and lack of empathy. Yet, sadly, he will get my vote by default, since that is my strongest available form of protest against the current regime; my conscience will demand it. Choosing the lesser of two evils is a very unfullfilling way to cast a vote.

Maybe Santorum, or Newt, can rally to overtake Romney. I sure hope so. Mitt Romney is a very uninspiring political figure.

It is starting to look as if Santorum may have a shot. IMO, Gingrich is finished. He would make a heck of a chief of staff though.

I am wating to see if the USSC overturns Obamacare. if not I will terminate the insurance coverage for all my employees. In the furture I will hire only men. When i have an all male staff i will reinsitute coverage but will not provide family coverage.

I’m afraid vasectomies for men are also going to be included in this mandate.

On another note, I would hate to see them give an exemption to “religious employers” only. How about secular employers running their own businesses, they also should have the right to refuse coverage of this immoral stuff to their employees.

I forgot about the vasectomies. Looks like I will be terminating insurance coverage for my employees permanently
