Catholics ignore the faith–so why shouldn’t politicians ignore Catholics?
You can’t mean this the way it’s written. You go from the particular and leap to the universal. SOME Catholics ignore the faith. Politicians are ignoring ALL Catholics.

It’s like saying SOME citizens shoot other citizens in cold blood, so why shouldn’t politicians shoot ALL citizens in cold blood.

I had hoped and prayed that President Obama would moderate in his views once in office, but I am saddened to note that he has become more radical, and extreme, than even my worst fears could have imagined. As a practicing Roman Catholic, I cannot, in good conscience, consider voting for someone whose views are in diametrical opposition to those held by my religion, and myself.

However, I do not appraise his likely opponent, Mitt Romney, as being a person of heightened spiritual or moral character, nor do I easily overlook his mercenary tendencies and lack of empathy. Yet, sadly, he will get my vote by default, since that is my strongest available form of protest against the current regime; my conscience will demand it. Choosing the lesser of two evils is a very unfullfilling way to cast a vote.

Maybe Santorum, or Newt, can rally to overtake Romney. I sure hope so. Mitt Romney is a very uninspiring political figure.
I tend to agree with you, but NO CANDIDATE that is presently on the Republican ticket is anywhere close to the radical agenda this President is fast laying out. Obama is running over the Constitution and our freedoms like a steam roller!

I’m not all in for Romney either, but with him at the helm it would slow this train down dramatically that is now headed for Nazi Germany. I would rather see Santorum or even Newt (which doesn’t thrill me either) but at this point, with Obama at the helm, he’s taking the Country for a ride with NO BRAKES!

He will not stop at the Mandate…this is only the tip of the iceberg!

😃 Yep, I noticed that…he left some of us out of the equation.

I am wating to see if the USSC overturns Obamacare. if not I will terminate the insurance coverage for all my employees. In the furture I will hire only men. When i have an all male staff i will reinsitute coverage but will not provide family coverage.
Obamacare will be interpreted to mean that you MUST provide coverage for families, and employee children until they are 26.

President Obama “reinforced” his stance on the controversial contraception mandate while speaking at the Democrats’ annual retreat at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C. today, Senate Democrats said.

The retreat was closed to media.

Following President Obama’s speech at the retreat, a small group of Senate Democrats, mostly women, left the retreat early in order to hold a news conference on Capitol Hill to counter the Republicans’ news conference today at which they called for the mandate to be overturned…

“The power to decide whether or not to use contraception lies with a woman – not her boss,” said Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y. “What is more intrusive than trying to allow an employer to make medical decisions for someone who works for them?”

Only way way the mandate is going to be rescinded is through the courts and November 2012. Obama made promises to Cardinal-elect Dolon and said protections would be in place, Obama went back on his word.

This is a little off topic, but it helps to shed some background on why the radical left views natural fertility as a problem to be cured. Here is a quote from a book review:

“In the recently released Women, Sex, and the Church: a Case for Catholic Teaching, Angela Franks lays out how self-described “women’s health groups” view a woman’s fertility fundamentally as a hindrance, a burden, a disease to be eradicated.”

from, The Feminist Shaming of Fertility, in the First Things blog.

My daughters returned home from their Catholic School with neatly typed letters (from the school authorities) to be mailed by us to the President, and to those who serve as our particular Senators, and Representative. The letters conclude with a call for the parties to do all that they can to rescind the “Preventive Service Mandate”.

For some reason this led me to do some comparative semantic research, and I came up with two words that when used as nouns basically hold the same meaning:

1: Mandate (noun)- an authoratative rule, prescription, or injunction.

2: Dictate (noun)- an authoratative command.

Somehow, “Preventive Services Mandate” seems to couch the nefarious nature of the intended consequences in obtuse language. It is really a “Contraception/Abortion/Sterilization Dictate”, and the word “Dictate” in this sense aptly announces the broader danger which is inherent in this sort of authoritarian recklessness.

Santorum has my vote!

To Sen. Gillibrand: “What is more intrusive than forcing other citizens to violate their consciences by being forced to pay for things that are against their religious beliefs?”
Let me be exactly clear about what health care reform means to you. First of all, if you’ve got health insurance, you like your doctors, you like your plan, you can keep your doctor, you can keep your plan. Nobody is talking about taking that away from you.
Barack Obama

One thing we can thank God for is this was revealed before the election and we still have a chance to stop it. Obama says this will be decided next year. Come on folks God has let it be revealed in time, now it is up to us to stop it or next year will be too late. If he is voted in again he will be free to roughshod most anything through.

I hope the liberal Catholics who voted Obama last time will wake up to what is happening. The bishops were for Obamacare when they were promised they would not need to follow the abortion part and now they find out they were lied to. Many in our country were lied to so if we go along again we can’t blame anyone but ourselves.

This has happened many times before in history I hope we don’t let history repeat itself. We know what happens then.:(😦

All men employees won’t be the answer. The insurance will cover vasectomies. Only answer is for businesses to get out of the insurance business. Let people buy their own insurance on the free market. Then they can do what they want and it will be their own consciences. Get the government out of people’s most private affairs. Let people follow their own religion.

This is pretty much the gist of what Fr. Sirico said on Raymond Arroyo tonight. He said “The Mask if Off” and what we see now is only the beginning. If he is reelected it will be no holes barred. He also said he doesn’t think it was intended that this come out this soon. “Doesn’t really do the White House any good.” At the end of the interview he and Raymond both agreed that we haven’t even begun to see what this health care bill might do to end of life issues. Fr. Sirico said this entire bill should be scrapped because it is so open to interpretation that they will be able to do pretty much anything they want to do.:banghead:

I don’t know how, but somehow we have to vote this guy out.

My Bad, thought you may be from “Ridge” MD. Then I read your profile.
God Bless,

Its not nefarious language. The President is using the rule of regulation to command us peasants to do his bidding. How dare we complain?

This President is making Congress irrelevant. Liberals had better not complain about an “Imperial Presidency” when a Republican gets elected and uses executive orders to undo everyone Obama did, and then gets rid of the FDA, EPA, Department of Education, Labor, Energy, and Agriculture.
