Why are people so sad. The GOP still controls congress. Starting tomorrow Obama is a Lame Duck. Besides, in my opinion he’s the Democrats GW bush. He’s not liberal enough for some people. His base loves him but the rest hate him. I honestly think in 4 years he will be thought of as a failed president. Honestly the only thing positive about him is that he was the first black president. Other than that he will be a failure.
This has been the most positive thing said here so far

If you expected a direct answer, I cannot give it. I am not informed enough on the topic you mention to answer directly.

There’s something about authority that we have to get straight. And that we need to form our conscience properly. It’s not a clean-cut situation. It’s complex. Every situation has its own set of variables. US is not China, to begin with.

So my suggestion is to educate ourselves more on how to deal with respect for authority and loyalty to God.
But noting the complexity of a situation does not alleviate it in the slightest. If a Catholic in China had to make his choice…what would be the lesser of two evils? I once considered very seriously joining your Church myself…but in China, I was not able to, not by Vatican standards, at least, and now…I have changed my mind about many things, for many reasons.

Salvation is not lost until we die. Because you, my friend, never merited your own salvation. Christ, the Son of God, merited your salvation. He holds it in His hands and protects it as His own precious possession.

However, you do have the free will to renounce to it. It’s your choice.
Renounced.

I truly thought Mitt Romney had a chance of victory…but deep down inside, I somehow felt that Obama had the greater advantage.
Of course he did. The media is very powerful now and the media is secular around the world. Same with education in general. Those who respect traditional values are primitive cavemen to this progressive world.

We think we are so advanced that God and religion are obsolete.

It is somewhat ironic that China’s society, whilst so devoid of religion, is still in so many ways so much more conservative and traditional than America’s. I will say only that I wish I could have voted in the election…

you think we have it hard now, remember boys and girls, men and woman, we once were put on posts in gladiator arena and fed to tigers and lions for roman spectacle…

Renounced.
Well, if I chose to poke my eyes out, I guess I am free to do so. It would however be considered by the majority of people as an act of insanity. As such, therefore, I consider your willful renunciation of salvation: nothing but insanity. You just don’t know what you are doing, and you probably have little to no understanding of what salvation is.

careful what you renounce, the line between renouncing god and renouncing the holy spirit publicly is thin and only one can be forgiven.

How people of faith can vote for someone that supports intrinsic evil is just astounding.

There are many kinds of faith, and many kinds of evil. I am not yet part of any organized religious group, but I do believe that we will each answer to our own actions in time…one way or another.

I know. And I don’t care. Good night.

maybe you guys need to add a amendment to the constitution like what has been done in the past and limit a term to one office sitting per person.

No, everything can be forgiven in this life, by the merits of Christ.

There are six sins that offend the Holy Spirit. These are Despair, Presumption of God’s mercy, Impugning the known truth, Envy the spiritual good of another, Obstinacy in sin, Final impenitence.

The only unforgivable sin is final impenitence, because we die unrepentant and willfully rejecting God. All other sins greatly hinder our openness to God’s grace and to repentance, but can still be overcome until the point of death.

They’ll only control the house for two more years unfortunately.
Why do you think that? Also, do you have some magical crystal ball that can tell the future? For all we know, Obama might end up making things even worse and we vote for a GOP house and senate?

I do care about my health, physical and spiritual. If I am sick, I naturally seek healing. To do otherwise is insanity. And even if you don’t care, others care. For instance, we care for you, and specifically I do, even though I only know you as 23morgan. And God cares, regardless of whether or not you know or believe this.

Good night to you 🙂

I will take your word on that, my brain is way to tired trying to figure out a few of those words 😃 plus I think my dreams are much more entertaining then listening to CNN talk about how republicans need to accept gays and abortions…they couln;t even give it one days rest, they actually had to say thats why he lost…so good night and catch you all on the day side.

I don’t think the economy will get better and this is the only way the Democrats would take control of the House. One pundit said tonight, Pelosi’s days are numbered.

The system is broken and can’t be fixed, and I’d have said the same thing if Romney had won tonight instead. Personally I feel Obama will be much better for galvanizing opposition to the government, and very soon we will have our opportunity to begin refusing to co-operate with the Obama administration.
As for the reports that something like 50 pct of Catholics voted for Obama just goes to show the absurdity of the claims that a Catholic is a Catholic is a Catholic, or attending one Catholic church is no different from attending any other.
