Yes, they were.

There are a few other challenges that haven’t been thrown out of court yet, but they won’t be settled for quite a while.

Abyssinia, this is now law.
Becket Fund say on the supreme court decision that found the health care law constiutional

Today’s decision and the Becket Fund’s challenges to the HHS mandate are completely separate and distinct legal issues. But did the Supreme Court say anything that is relevant to the HHS mandate? Yes. Two key quotes signal that the Court may be willing to strike down the HHS mandate as a violation of religious liberty

Whew! Thought I was the only Democrat in the bunch…
Please reconsider voting along party lines in the future. We are on this earth to do God’s will and not the will of Republicans and Democrats. Our church is center piece in all of this. We must all do penance and correct our errant ways and beliefs and start to live our lives in accordance with God’s will.

That’s all conjecture on their part, Abyssinia. The HHS mandate has NOT been struck down. It will go into effect, unless something dramatic had happened, like Romney being elected. That DIDN’T HAPPEN.

Yes, there are some lawsuits out there, and they may eventually amount to something, but some of them have been just plain thrown out of court, and that could still happen. These things take time. And we no longer have time.

It is possible that the HHS mandate will take effect and sometime later something could happen in the courts to modify it, but it’s almost a locked down certainty that is going to take effect. The odds against it are tiny now. Romney was the big chance we had, and that’s GONE.

We’ve got bigger problems to solve now. This isn’t over for Catholics. We’ve got the HHS mandate to figure out.
I was trying to be nice and not say some of the things that I really think about some of these–ahem–posts. Whatever.

I never thought I’d see the day that catholics are a persecuted minority group in the US. (HHS mandate). Sad how much suffering the catholic church will have to endure because of this
I never thought I’d see that day either but here it is. 😦

Obama isn’t half the man Romney is. And it’s bad enough what he will do this country over the next 4 years. But it’s even worse that we missed out on a man of character and respect. And you know, someone with actual experience, an actual agenda.

Obama said he wanted to “fundamentally change America”. It looks like he has done that. This election proves we have crossed the tipping point. There’s no going back folks.

It’s going to get really bad over the next four years. Many more of us will lose our jobs. Many more will enter welfare and rely on food stamps. Government dependence robs a man of his dignity. Socialism is a soft form of slavery. We have enter that phase and there’s no going back.

For some reason God has led us down this path. He may have given us up as a nation. Stay strong. Cling to your family and forget everyone else. They can rely on the government now. They have healthcare, phones, food stamps. They’ll be OK. Stock up and take care of your families.
I am so disappointed in the American people, and particularly in my fellow American Catholics. I think it’s obvious now we as a nation have passed the tipping point in turning away from God and are in serious decline. And I’m sure it will come out that Obama won the Catholic vote again, something we as a Church should be ashamed of considering his extreme pro-abortion, anti-religious freedom policies. Today Catholics voted against religious freedom. They voted against the right to life. And why? Because the majority do not care about those things anymore, and in many cases actually take sides against the teachings of the Church. They don’t know the faith, and they don’t care. They are Catholic only on paper, but in life are secular. They have largely abandoned the sacred teachings of our Church in favor of relativism or who knows what. It’s simply inexcusable.

The homilies at our parish recently were about the non-negotiable points, abortion being the first. The homilies made the point that no rights matter to those who are denied the basic right to be born.

On All Saint’s Day, our pastor said there were notes in the collection plate the previous weekend, notes that said the writers were withholding donations because of those homilies.

If Catholicism would be outlawed in America, all hell will break loose.

We all need to prepare ourselves. Indeed, there will be a purging/cleansing occurring in our most Holy church. Our Lady of Fatima spoke of this…

I’m not quite sure I know what you’re saying. I voted along my party line. I understand how deeply you feel about the election results. I love my Church, too; however, do I infer correctly that you are saying that I am not placing Her above my politics? I assure you, that is not true. Also, are you saying that I must repent for voting as I did?

Most gracious poster, I do not know in what way you voted, so in point of fact I was speaking to all whom are reading currently this moment.

One good thing, Obama will be in office when the economic pitfalls this administration has set this nation falls into, those who voted for Obama voted only for their own interests, against the jobs for other people, very uncharitable. This nation will reap what it has sown but the fact is we will all pay for the errors of the Obama supporters.
