It IS the most important issue, if we don’t preserve LIFE than nothing else will follow. This is to include liberty, the pursuit of happiness, and other rights guaranteed to us as American citizens. It’s sad, but you can see why we are so divided and gridlocked in congress just by reading this thread. We have people believing abortion is the most important issue and all else is secondary.
BTW, your modern/post-modern mentality that subjectively disqualifies a human being in the womb from being a human is flawed beyond recourse. Biology has evidenced that a zygote, fetus, or any other human form taken in the womb are developmental stages in human life. Other stages include infancy, adolecence, puberty, adulthood, etc. What I am stating is objective, it is fact and it is truth… to deny such is intellectually disengenous. It is unfortunate that the contrary mentality has been so pervasive for the past 100-150 years
The anti-life/pro-abortion/contraception ideal tends to muck things up as well, this is what happens when you fuse relativism with self-centered nonsense. See “gay marriage” lobby. This mindset of idealism is exactly why nothing gets done in Washington.
Reagan did this, the Republican Congress under Clinton did this, GW Bush did this after 9/11. It seems to me that Democrats often accuse their opposition of exactly what they are doing themselves. Obama won’t work with anyone who isn’t in lockstep with him, in Democrat terms “Republican Obstructionism.” “Gay marriage” advocates want to change laws to impose their agenda, if you disagree you are “imposing your views on them.” If you oppose the pro-contraception crowd you hate women, even though contraception itself does nothing other than objectify women and essentially undermines what feminists have fought for for decades.Bring both parties to the middle to focus on things we actually can work on rather than shutting down someone doesn’t agree with our religious and moral beliefs.
Truly it is bizzare, black people are seemingly enslaved by the Democrat Party thanks to LBJ. The same LBJ who used illegal surveillance against MLK (a Republican) and called him a hypocritical preacher, the same LBJ who said his Great Society program would “have these n****** voting Democratic for 200 years.”
