well we still have debit, but we never had the bailout or housing crash and our banking laws are good.
but the argument stands that we have a balanced budget and still have free healthcare, but it’s not free, so how can it be wrong when my taxes are deducted to pay for it, i pay for what I use, the same way you pay for a HMO.
now COLT Canada and pretty much everything else is made here that can’t be made in china, in fact most of the cars that are branded made in Detroit are actually made in Hamiliton Canada, and the LAV and everything else is made here, and yet you guys don’t complain. I think the issue is, partision politics is killing your nation, what can be done when one side blocks the other?

The reason why you have “free” care, as you put is, is because of price control. That control means rationing, especially in specialized fields such as orthopedics. People have to wait months for treatment. Some Canadians will travel for hours for treatment in the USA and pay tens of thousands of dollars because the pain gets to be unbearable.
Over 70% of GM’s inventory comes from abroad. Why? Detroit unions are too just expensive.
What is killing this country is entitlements and spending and a bunch of sniveling special interest groups who think they are owed by society.

WHO doesn’t compile their own stats. They get them from the official government agencies that compile them. The CDC compiles the data for the US, and they give a final rate of 12 for 2009. Thankfully, we have 2009 rates from the Scandinavian countries also (compiled by their respective officials). Two countries show a marginally lower rate, whereas one show a marginally higher rate.You can’t use two different sources for an objective analysis. Oh brother!
But if it will make you feel better, because surely I don’t want to hurt your feelings. I will admit that you were wrong.
And as I said, the rates are essentially the same. That’s it.

Not terribly topical perhaps, but possibly of passing interest. Referencing Inego, it may be mentioned that for a long time, slavery in Louisiana was unique among the southern states. It was more like indentured servitude, and it was assumed that every slave would eventually earn his own freedom, and there were rules about that as well as rules about humane treatment. New Orleans had more free blacks and far and away more interracial marriages than anywhere else, north or south. Louisiana came under pressure as a state to conform its slavery laws with the “chattel slavery” laws prevailing in the Anglo south and to some extent did. But it never did entirely. It is my understanding that the traditional Louisiana way of treating slavery was fairly consistent with Church positions on the subject at the time.
That has little to do with Obama winning the presidential election, but it does relate to such things as displaying the confederate flag as a sort of protest. If Louisiana had a “confederate flag” all its own, I have never seen it, and don’t know whether it would cause a disturbance or not.

my taxes are deducted to pay for healthcare, I had a MRI within 3 days and it was non urgent, i had surgery in a week and it was semi urgent, considering what it was for, you sound like a FOX news reporter, come here before you open your mouth because you don’t know what you are talking about.

Why do people vote for Obama? Because there are really no other choices. Most Catholics don’t vote for Romney because of his views. They vote for him because he is the lesser of two evils. Really why are people so surprised when a man who claim he does not care about the 47% of Americans, believes that Russia is our enemy, change his views every 3 seconds and tied his dog on the roof of his car? Let be honest, Romney isn’t a good choice. Ron Paul may have a good chance of winning but Romney? Only by some miracle.

I agree with you that Romney was a loose canon rolling on the deck.
He claimed to be able to work with the opposition, based on his Massachusetts tenure. Yet, when one looks at his record, the things he takes credit for are instances of things he vetoed, and the mass senate overroad his veto. He didn’t work with them at all. And that was just the first in a long series of deceptive statements.
I have suspected that the reason for his loss was having Ryan on the ticket with his draconian social agenda. I reasoned that he failed to get enough of the retiree vote in Florida. This idea was confirmed anecdotally today, when I spoke with my 90 year old grandmother. She voted for Romney, but was troubled by his flip flopping. By Election Day she did not trust him. She told me that a number of her friends said that they preferred Romney, but their fear of Ryan pushed them away, and they voted Obama.
