Obama’s only background story is from his book - the other records are sealed
Do you realize this is fantasy?
What if someone wanted to write a biography, get a background story about you. Let’s say I am writing a book “Life of Grotto”.
First, I would go to where your parents lived when you were born. I’d speak to neighbors, coworkers, friends. Next, I would visit your gradeschool, I’d likely run some ads in local newspapers asking for people (teachers, coaches, classmates, friends) who knew you as a child/teen to contact me.
My last step would be to continue this way, your college, career, romantic interests, until I’d developed a pretty solid background. At that point I would speak to any family members, and lastly I would ask you for an interview.
When doing these things, I do not have legal authority to see your actual school transcripts, medical records, employment records, these are not public records, they are sealed. Heck, I cannot see my husband’s medical records unless he grants me permission!!
President Obama, by the same token, has personal records that are not public records. Just like you, just like me. Nothing sinister, no conspiracy.
The interesting thing, our current POTUS will not release private records that past Presidents have released.
The important part of a background story are the people. The family, neighbors, friends, coworkers, employers, romantic interests, etc of President Obama are not “sealed” in a big box somewhere.
