‘Equal means an’ incestuous couple or more than 2 biological related people, person who wants to marry multiple persons, a person who wants marry an inaimate object, people who wants to marry 1 or more animals, first cousins, ‘doesn’t have to spend money for a lawyer to get the same benefits a straight couple gets simply because the straight couple has the word “married” attached to their relationship’

That argument can be changed to accommodate any people. As was written previously, states prohibts all the above from being able to marry and there have been no successful court challenges to change this prohibition so ‘equality’ is not an argument that has persuaded the court before

Clint Eastwood hasn ever been elected. Who was elected on the Romney team? And why didn’t they push so Romney had a pro gay marriage platform? I bet they know that would of sunk him even further than his eventual loss

Libertarians tend to be incredibly forgetful, conservatives such as myself remember the sodomite lobby constantly moving the goal post and constantly lying about their intentions. I remember when all they wanted was civil unions and they would never ever ever want marriage or to serve openly in the military. You may want to bury your head in the sand as the country slides towards legalizing every perversion and looses all other freedoms as a result I myself do not.

Social conservatism advocates preservation and protection for the family and traditional views of marriage and family and advocates laws to defend marriage between 1 woman and 1 man

Sorry, you’re talking to someone too old to buy that story. I lived through the early gay rights days and I know EXACTLY what was being proposed. It was always about equal rights, never about separate but equal.

There are “perversions” that are legal now that I have no issue avoiding. Does making something legal mean that you feel you must participate?

Since every person ever born is subject to God’s laws, it is not a Catholic issue per se. Discussing legalities is fine, but if that is your defense when you gace God, you are in for a world of hurt. The attitudes of Catholics who are wishy washy on this and a number of other serious issues, many posting on this site, are offensive to God, sadly.

Speaking universally, marriage is not a right, it is a gift. Non one should have the expectation of a gift having to be given to then, else, it ceases becoming a gift.

Its legislating from the bench. The government not recognizing homosexual “marriages” is in no way unconstitutional. The fact is that homosexuals are not legally discriminated against all. They can get married, but it must be to someone of the opposite sex. The law is the same no matter what your sexual orientation. The discrimination argument itself is a fallacy because homosexuality is a behavior, and we discriminate against behaviors. We do not allow pedophiles to become kindergarten teachers or convicted murders to become police officers. We discriminate against behaviors for a reason, if we didn’t discriminate against behaviors there would be no laws against murder or rape. The idea that this is a civil rights movement is appalling. The fact that they compare government not changing the definition of institutions at a moments notice because someone feels offended by it to government beating, hosing down, segregating, impoverishing, and enslaving black people should have every person of African descent who lived through the civil rights era furious.
 
Among the multiple ironies of this administration is this:

It somehow offends liberals that Americans think of the U.S. as “special” or as “the shining city on the hill” and that seems quite true of Obama as well. The day may not be far off when non-libs may begin thinking the same thing, the more this country officially descends into the moral sewer.
