2010-MSM: the Republicans will barely gain control of the House, and probably pick up only 2-3 Senate seats.

They and the polls (quite possibly purposely) were wrong then; they are wrong now.

Yea, he’s really polished. What happened when those policemen acted “stupidly” again and how are our Navy “CorPsmen” doing these days? I hope there are no smudges on the teleprompter!!!

Had a republican made those kind of silly blunders we would still be seeing the nightly news lead with this.
You forgot the “57 states” comment.

Yes, Obama is a polished speaker. We’ll see how polished when they have the debate, and see who mops the floor with whom.
Obama is only “polished” when he uses a teleprompter to spout words written by another. Hillary beat him in the debates quite clearly. Romney will have Obama’s lunch. And Ryan will make Joe Biden look like an amateur. Superior intellects all around on the GOP side.

In the morning news via NPR. This morning they repeated the Todd Akin gaffe for the 5th day in a row.

Unless Obama makes a huge gaffe, he will be the perceived winner by a good portion of the media. If Romney has a strong night it will help him but you may be hardpressed to find the non Fox press calling him a “winner”.
I am really hoping that Romney will perform well enough to be considered a viable presidential candidate. The last president that we elected who could not control his impulsive speech, and who was proud of saying stupid things, we ended up with two pointless wars, millions of people worldwide killed or displaced by our actions, an unregulated and failed economy… It goes on and on.

It is important for a president to be able to speak intelligently. I am trying to figure out if this person is well qualified. If he can’t speak intelligently, then I have little confidence that he has the mental acumen to be president. If he is ignorant of history and world affairs, then he is unqualified. If he is unable to speak well, then how can he negotiate with another head of state who is his intellectual superior?

I am hoping that he will start to appear to be presidential acting in thought and deed. Being a rich, white, and male will work against him in our increasingly diverse society, unless he shows the skill to appear genuine. If he continues to appears to be stupid or disingenuous or misinformed or ignorant, then the debates will hurt him.

Ah er, em, uh. uh, (pause pause) I’m with you. 👍

You didn’t build that.
If (please God) President Obama loses this election, I think that it will be traced to this and to his mishandling/cover up of the 9/11 situation this year (and the economy, obviously).

I myself am still undecided on who to vote for this upcoming election. It be great if you fellow forumers could share your thoughts.

And please, if on purpose, try not to add any lies or false statements on your replies.
I just want the hard truth on why you support your guy.
Thanks a lot!
Pres. Obama’s stand on abortion and gay marriage are alone sufficient for me to vote for Mitt Romney. Considering that the President has presided over a 5.4 trillion dollar increase in the national debt, accomplished in less than four years (do I really have to cite a source?? it’s been all over the news this month); his Affordable Health Care Act which puts IMO too much control into the hands of the Federal Government in that arena; the prospect of his pushing the Supreme Court to the left; his appointment of czars; his penchant for executive orders and last but not least his handling of the war in Afghanistan are all bonus reasons why I will vote for Mr. Romney.

I would really like to see this thread (if the mods allow it):

Tell us why you are voting Romney when you voted Obama in 2008

Well, if you would just stop clinging to your guns and religion…
Well, I have to admit I’m probably the only Washington, DC lawyer who drives an F-150. I grew up in Ohio farm country. My Dad raised veal calves and dairy beeves (Holsteins), so we were particularly fond of pick-up trucks. Needless to say, my wife prefers that we take her car (Jaguar XF) when we hit the town. She also makes fun of my collection of ball caps (about 25 -30). So, if you see a guy getting into an F-150 wearing Polo clothes and Sperry shoes and sporting an “Ohio State” or “Alabama” or “Cleveland Indians” ball cap, that’s me. 🙂

You have it all figured out, huh? I don’t, and will wait for the debate to see how they do. As I’m not voting for either, it doesn’t matter to me who wins the three debates.

As for Hillary, I wish that she’d be President up against whatever the GOP could put forth. She’d make a better president than McCain, Romney, or Obama. 👍

Jon Huntsman didn’t win the nomination, so I must vote for Romney. We (Hunstman and I) are old-fashioned Rockefeller Republicans, now as extinct as dinosaurs.

With the success this man has achieved, it is really a stretch to say he is any of these things. Perhaps he is not “cool” like Obama, perhaps he does not say things only to please the audience, but where has that gotten us. I think, given his business acumen, he will fare quite well in talks with other heads of state and he will darn sure stand up for our country better than our current president has done. I cannot believe how many people are attracted by esthetics rather than substance. And as far as qualified is concerned, what had Mr. Obama done that made him qualified to be president? Community rabble rowser? Give me a break.

There has been some super bungling, if not outright corruption being exposed lately. I’m hoping we will learn all the facts when/if Romney wins.

But surely Hart, Schaffner and Marx, and Brioni jackets at work. 😃

And she would go against the teachings of your faith.

He won’t be re-elected? Don’t count your chickens yet.
