Hi. Will anyone who has any information on the Oblates of the Virgin Mary (OMV) please share their thoughts/opinions on this thread.
I am discerning the sacred priesthood and would like to be able to find a congregation that is orthodox and faithful to Rome.
From the page, Signs of an OMV Vocation (emphasis mine):
Please let me know what you think!
God bless.

I am discerning the sacred priesthood and would like to be able to find a congregation that is orthodox and faithful to Rome.
From the page, Signs of an OMV Vocation (emphasis mine):
The Oblates of the Virgin Mary are serious about seeking holiness. Centered on the Eucharist, devoted to Mary and faithful to the Magisterium, the Oblates serve the Church as teachers of authentic spirituality and heralds of the mercy of God. The qualities and signs of an Oblate vocation that we are looking for in a man who feels called to religious life and priesthood are:
All 3 priests whom I have corresponded with via e-mail have affirmed their fidelity to the Holy Father and Magisterium of the Church, et alia.
- Serious desire to become a saint
- Loving relationship with the Blessed Virgin Mary
- Fidelity to the Holy Father and the Magisterium of the Church
- Humble spirit of sacrifice and zeal for souls
- Desire for contemplative prayer and silence
- Capacity for friendship and community life
- Confident masculine identity and integrity
- Heart open to obedience and capable of effective teamwork
- Generous spirit of service
- Potential for genuine empathy, spiritual fatherhood and discernment
- Physical and mental health necessary for work and study
- Solid foundation in human experience and maturity
Please let me know what you think!
God bless.
