I didn’t miss that. I just don’t see how it relates to your position that the Muslim world is becoming more estranged from those in the Muslim world who are fighting us.Did you miss the part about how more Muslims have been killed fighting on our side than Americans?

Yes, but the Taliban is making a comeback. Mr Karzai may as well be the mayor of Kabul for all the influence he has in the rest of the country. He is a minority Tajik trying to run a majority Pashtun country; a country where clan and tribe are everything. There is a new government in Afghanistan.

A government which is moving closer and closer to Iran and is biding its time until we get out. I don’t see how a Shiite Iraqi government with improving ties with Iran is a victory for us. Is that what our troops are shedding their blood for? Is that victory? There is a new government in Iraq.

IMO its too soon to judge the effects of the Syrian pullout of Lebanon. Increased instability there seems likely. The Syrians are moving out of Lebanon.

This is a welcome development. The Lybians are welcoming nuclear inspectors.

This is where a serious improvement in diplomacy is needed. In these countries, we need to put serious diplomatic pressure on them to reform their internal policies without “regime change”. These govts have for years bought off their Al Qaeda types while maintaining their own repression of those who want reform. This must end.Nations like Yemen have turned over terrorists to us. Saudi Arabia – albeit walking a tight rope – is cracking down on terrorists and those who support them.
