The Church condems anything outside of the magesterium. Any form of government without God’s intervention is doomed for failure.

Political conservatism/liberalism is not the same as religious conservatism/liberalism.

Except for a few slum lords who profit directly off the sufferings of the poor (and who are likely no where near 1%) i doubt that any rich persecute poor.

Infact the rich that I know give signfigantly despite the fact the government TAKES 40%-55%+ of what they EARNED. It is wrong to ask more of them.

It refers to a gate. A fully packed camel couldn’t make it through. You had to unpack the camel to get through. But you would repack on the other side. This means don’t be attached to your riches, not that you can not have any.

I heard this anaology years ago and it made sense to me.

However, a few years later, I read that there was no such gate where camels passed through and the analogy would be incorrect.

Either way, wealth and the desire for wealth, blind the soul to the true riches of life and the person is drawn further and further away, the wealthier he/she becomes.

I disagree about heathcare and education. Healthcare and education BOTH are far to precious and can be taken advantage of. Payment is assurity people will be serious about it.

That was tried once already, during the Sickening Sixties. The hippies decided that everybody should have free food. The problem was, somebody still had to produce the food before it could be given away for free, and producing it—surprise, surprise—cost money. Of course, the hippies tried to pitch in and cut costs by never investing in soap, razor blades, hot water or clean clothing, but it just wasn’t enough, and the scheme collapsed.

You need to go back to basic theology and study the effects of Original Sin. Money is not the problem. Mankind’s fallen nature is.

why are you using the tea party flag? What’s the meaning of “don’t tread on me?” can you educate me on the tea party movement? I read some of your posts about barack obama. Why do you hate him so much? Is it personal or you don’t like what he does? Don’t you think that god wills it for him to be the president and that he is using him already just like he uses everybody else? If you dislike somebody like obama and all these “liberal” folks at ows or if you dislike what they do, why not try to work with them and correct their behavior instead? Go out there and pray during their protests, provide them with tents, food. Would you like to join me for the first time and we’ll pray rosary and join in their meditation prayers?

To the Occupy DC protesters chanting anti-capitalist slogans in her face, she may have seemed like the archetypal enemy: an older white woman, well-dressed, leaving a Koch brothers-sponsored dinner. The reality would probably surprise them.

Dolores, a grandmother of three, is a retired special education teacher. She worked in the Detroit public school system for 40 years. And she lives on a pension. “A Michigan education pension,” she told me over the phone. “I’m certainly not rich and I never have been. I’m a teacher. I’m retired. I never made a lot of money.”
