There are no solutions. We live in a fallen world, and man will always have a sinful nature until Christ returns. There are no utopias.The only thing that can be done is to return people to a Christian worldview so that they will willingly want to help out the less fortunate—and the less fortunate will take enough responsibility to try to lift themselves out of the hole with a helping hand from others, instead of a dependance on the government.

That’s not a “Tea Party flag”, it’s an American Revolutionary War flag. It was originally created by Colonel Christopher Gadsden as a warning to the British: “Be careful—American bite.” The Tea Party has picked it up in recent years to send the same message to the Federal government, which has vastly overstepped its bounds.

I read some of your posts about barack obama. Why do you hate him so much? Is it personal or you don’t like what he does?

I dislike him because I see him as a radical leftist. I come from a military family, and I served myself. His associations with Communists like Bill Ayers, Van Jones, and Frank Marshall Davis, along with his audacity in hanging an ornament with Mao Tse-tung’s picture on the White House Christmas tree quite frankly appall me. I also see him as morally deficient, in that he rescinded DADT and that he refuses to enforce DOMA, and also that he has people of questionable backgrounds in his administration, such as Tim Geithner, a tax cheat whom he made Secretary of the Treasury, and his Attorney General, Eric Holder, who, through both his refusal to prosecute members of the Black Panthers in the voter intimidation case and his complete befuddlement in Operation Fast and Furious, has been shown to be either a bumbling incompetant or a law-ignoring criminal. I see his economic policies leading the country to flaming ruin; and finally, I see his constant apologizing for America all over the world to be a disgusting embarassment.

Does that clarify things for you a little, or shall I continue to list his discrepancies? We could be here a while.

Maybe God does will for him to be president. That doesn’t mean that I have to dance with joy about it. I’m sure God willed Nero to be Emperor, too, but I don’t suspect the Christians he had hung on lampposts and burned alive were terribly thrilled with him, either.

If you dislike somebody like obama and all these “liberal” folks at ows or if you dislike what they do, why not try to work with them and correct their behavior instead?

No, because that would be aiding and abetting them in criminal activity. They are tresspassing on public property, causing no end of vandalism and destruction of things that do not belong to them, they are raping young women, they are robbing shopkeepers of their livelihoods, they are injuring police officers, and they are causing thousands of dollars of lost revenue, and damages in all sorts of ways. I pray for them, but I will not help them continue to break the law.

Would you like to join me for the first time and we’ll pray rosary and join in their meditation prayers?

I’ll be happy to devote my rosary to them, but it will carry my intentions, not theirs.

What is not allowable is communism. The Catholic Church teaches us that we are to respect private property rights.

I would recommend that you read the section on the Seventh Commandment, starting at section 2401.

On the other extreme, unlimited wealth is not moral. While the law does not put a cap on wealth, God surely does. The amount of wealth one accumulates should never exceed the amount he is willing to be a good steward of. The teaching on universal destination of goods does not preclude wealth, but directs the possession of wealth to a specific goal.

Now, the extent this morality needs to be regulated is debatable. The two extremes though have both been condemned by the Church: unbridled capitalism and communism.

Would you consider a goal of affordable basic healthcare for all to be an acceptable goal? Those that can pay next to nothing pay that. The rest of us are taxed to help the poor get basic and necessary medical care.

The Church forbids FORCED communism. It is totally fine with voluntary communism (also called communalism), as long as people give up their private property voluntarily. (I.e., cloistered religous communities that take a vow of poverty). The Church doesn’t require us to live this way, but make it permissible.

I think that society needs to redefine “basic and necessary” healthcare. Our society has become so weak that they run to the doctor every time they get the sniffles. Coupled with a terrible diet and utter lack of exercise, it is no wonder why we have such a high rate of preventable disease, which of course is very expensive. Its almost a racket. The government endorses a dietary system that CAUSES diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, osteoporosis, and hypercholesterolemia, and then takes over health care to treat these diseases.

Only a morally depraved government would CAUSE disease and then be the provider of choice to CURE it.
