Russell Arnett will become a Catholic priest during an ordination ceremony at St. Jerome Parish in Oconomowoc on Saturday. He will be the first married Catholic priest in the Milwaukee Archdiocese.
Arnett began his journey into Catholicism after first becoming an Episcopalian priest many years ago. He said the more he served as an Episcopal priest, the more he felt drawn to Catholicism.
He and his wife, whom he met while attending Nashotah House in the late 1990s while becoming an Episcopal priest, converted to Catholicism in 2007. They moved to Oconomowoc and Arnett began his journey of becoming a Catholic priest. He also taught adult and youth ministries at St. Jerome.
