ok,i have been going thru the list .Zora Neale Hurston, can’t find anything that is conclusive as to her sexual orientation .which brings up the tendency for the homosexual propagandist penchant to label some people ,typically long dead as members of the tribe.

Michel Foucault ,He would praise sado-masochistic activity in interviews with the gay press, describing it as . yeah ,here is an exalted icon of the left.real deep thinker
I am truly embarrassed.:o
In my complete ignorance I was thinking of Leon Foucault and I was surprised that he would be celebrated during the gay month; however, as a physicist I was happy to celebrate one more scientist that made such important contributions. I was also amazed to hear that he was gay considering that at that time sexuality was not discussed too much except for artists.

Celebrating men that want to penetrate other men. How uplifting.

My problem is with “history” in general especially as it is taught in formal institutions of learning.

Let me say I’m ethnically Black-American and racially mulatto/biracial. But I’m probably one of a few that thinks Black History Month is stupid. Well… it’s not for purposes of indoctrination and propaganda.

But most history is written and/or taught that way. Real history tends to be far more complex with round characters of villains and heroes that were usually neither perfect nor entirely evil.

At my university in the Italian Language department a history course on the mafia is taught. Actually, I would agree that La Cosa Nostra and some of the other Italian organized crime groups are part of Italian history.

But likewise the Crips, Bloods, GD’s, and VL’s are a part of Black-American history. The Hell’s Angels and Outlaws motorcycle gangs are a part of White-American history.

I’ve no problem with Richard the Lion Heart being presented as likely homosexual in the history of humanity, white people, Europeans, Catholicism, and the English.

Simply disagreeing with homosexuals’ morality shouldn’t prompt the erasure of our influence on history.
I don’t think that one’s homosexuality should be the basis for noting their influence on history, unless of course “being homosexual” was the reason for or related to their contributions. I suppose that Harvey Milk would be noted as someone who fought to advance the rights of homosexual people to live their chosen lifestyle. But how does, for example, the sexual orientation of Billie Jean King impact her contribution to women’s tennis? Does it really matter?

Should the history books be altered to note the sexuality of every notable person: George Washington - does it matter to history that he was heterosexual? Would the totality of his contribution to the founding of the United States of America be somehow overlooked if his sexual orientation were not included in the textbooks?

It seems to me that this is all just part of an attempt to normalize homosexuality. For better or worse, let’s call it what it is, please.

Peace,
Robert

It’s like…

“Their medicine is forced down our throats.”

“What is BAD…is good, and what is GOOD is bad.”

topsy turvy

Wasn’t there a scripture that said what would happen in the (supposed) end days?

I don’t want to fear monger, but shouldn’t we ALL be more vigil right now?

I’ve never seen/heard of ANY month dedicated to…‘STRAIGHTS’.

WHY…is this homosexual agenda becoming more prevelent in society?
  • To prevent bullying?
  • To prevent stereotypes?
  • To prevent suicides?
The Bible clearly and succinctly states in Leviticus 18:22 that “You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination,” and in Leviticus 20:13, “If a man lies with a male as with a woman both of them have committed an abomination; they shall be put to death; their blood is upon them.” What’s the old saying? The Bible says it – I believe it, that settles it! Leviticus also teaches us that women are unclean during their menstrual cycle, that defecating within the camp was unacceptable lest God step in it while walking in the evening, and a woman giving birth to a male child is considered unclean for a week – for a female child two weeks. Is this the inerrant Word of God? Not even the most fundamentalist/literalist would claim all of the Levitican Law is the inerrant word of God. For the rest of us, it’s not even worth debating.

My point is that this is an official education program in the public schools as Arne Duncan is the U.S. Secretary of Education under Pres. Obama

Okay. It is so sad that our government needs to separate us by our differences instead of unite us in our commonality.

This thread has been dormant for a considerable period. With rare exceptions, reviving threads after a protracted period of inactivity is discouraged because:
Code:
the issues that spurred them are often no longer "hot" or current topics, explaining why thread activity ceased originally.
posters originally involved in the discussion are sometimes no longer active on the forum and, therefore, unavailable to reply to comments added to the thread.
Our experience suggests that, when a topic merits revival, it is best accomplished by initiating a new thread that draws on recent events and can be posted to contemporaneously. This eliminates the baggage of folks being frustrated by asking and not receiving responses to issues raised in early posts (because the new poster didn’t notice that the post he was responding to was made a long time ago).

Posters are very welcome to open a new thread on the subject or any other topic, as well as to actively participate in the myriad active threads in the fora.

Thank you to all those who have participated in this discussion. This thread is now closed.
