I was quite surprised when I went to the Good Friday service at my parish today.
Everything seemed to follow the missal until time for Holy Communion: they brought out the ciborium from the back sacristy, along with a pitcher of the Precious Blood! It was then poured and distributed (by numerous Extraordinary Ministers of HC) as if it were a Mass.
Is there any provision for this? I thought it was required that only the hosts can be reserved after any Holy Mass, but I want to be sure before I – once again – have to say something at this parish.
