Homosexual acts are and forever will be a mortal sin. So let me get this correct as well—some people don’t care what happens to the soul as long as the body is gratified, in whatever degraded manner this sinful culture applauds?

And save the tired unjust-war mantra for the DU or other anti-American fringe group. Iraqis have souls as well and were liberated from a brutal and deadly dictator who slaughtered his own people for fun. This is quite different from collateral damage in war, if you can wrap your head around that concept. :rolleyes:

I will also get slamed but I do agree with you emotions and sexual feeling are natural and God gave us these feelings and it is un-natural to fight against it but there are many closed minded people in this world but GOD STILL LOVES US FOR WHO WE ARE
but I see where you are coming from. We can get slamed togeather and I think alot of otheres feel the same way but do not admitt it to themselves because it is safer.

Many, it would seem to believe that the essence of life is sexual. In order to ulfill our nature our sexual instincts must be met and if one is not fullfilling those instincts they are somehow disordered.

I will end this here even though i have more to say, but i have learned that in conversation dealing with a hot button issue one never puts all their cards on the table.

Homosexual acts are still morally sinful.

Saint Paul warned against them.

They are and always shall be grave matter, and if we love our bretheren as God must love us (but NOT our sins) we can not confirm them in their sins for the sake of namby-pamby ‘feelgoodism.’

That is the ultimate closed-mindedness: treating people like rutting animals, for whom anything goes.

Yes, the hysterical-sky-is-falling types got duped and played. That was the goal of the sensationalist media article–they get more reader interest by taking advantage of their reader’s ignorance, and the more reader interest they get results in making them more money, which is their goal (they are a business, not the teachers of Truth, like the Church).

The actual teachers of Truth (the Church), teach that those with deeped-seated homosexual tendencies “must be accepted with respect, compassion and sensitivity. Every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided”

I’m sorry you people don’t agree with the Church.

As for the new UK law being proposed: yes, it is changing things in that churches can no longer refuse to hire those of homosexual orientation for jobs that have nothing to do with teaching or spreading the faith (like accountants or janitors). But the bill is very clear that churches can refuse to hire someone who has a homosexual orientation for a job that involves teaching or spreading the faith. GO READ THE BILL.

Also notice that it was just talking about people with a homosexual orientation, NOT ACTIVE HOMOSEXUALS.

People, if you don’t see the Pope telling you to oppose this bill, then don’t worry about it. This might be hard for you to believe, but the Pope is not an idiot. You can trust him.

I highly doubt the bill makes the distinction between “active homosexual” and those who just happen to be gay. I’ve never heard of a secular law doing such. In any case, I re-skimmed the thread here and notice you haven’t actually substantiated this claim so I was hoping you would be so kind as to do so at your earliest convenience.

By the way, your false dichotomy of “either you’re for every piece of so called toleration legislation or you’re violating the Catechism” is rather amateurish and sophomoric. Some of us very early on explained why we would be against such legislation (by its face value) based on our own legal principles of separation.

When the “stimulus pkgs” came out, Columbus, Ohio put money into hiring newly graduated police officers. I think there were seven. The Pres thought this noteworthy so he jumped on Air Force One and flew to Columbus to attend the the graduation and to backslap our Gov for a job well done. (And how many million did that cost?) Made national news.

Fifteen minutes ago, our news stated that Columbus cannot afford to pay those new recruits, and are laying them off, plus 200+ other police officers.

Go figure!

We are fighting this right now in America! Whether the argument pertains to government forced approval of Homosexual lifestyles (attempted repeals of gay union bans and anti-bullying laws ), government funded and forced abortions ( Freedom Of Choice Act), or any number of other anti-God/ anti-life/ anti-Catholic agendas. All of these “progressive” ideologies boil down to a group of people demonizing Christianity and trying to criminalize Catholic/ Christian beliefs and practices which protect us, life, choice, freedom and indeed America itself. It is now illegal in Canada to preach homosexuality as sinful from the pulpit. Priests will be hauled off to jail for it. This is a very real possibility for our country and I expect the church will be pushed underground sometime soon, possibly in my lifetime ( I am only 28 years old). In the struggle ahead I can see many denying Christ outright to save their lives or the lives of family at the cost of their souls and many believers being called to martyrdom. Reviving the American auto industry will not save this country because crumbling car companies did not ruin it to begin with. We turned our backs on God collectively and as a result everything is falling apart. The only way out of our mess is to return to God and His laws. We must revive our individual spiritual lives in communion with Christ, then He will revive the family in America. Then we will invite God back into the schools and businesses where he belongs and where we need Him. As a result of this we will see respect for the individual return and respect for life in general, be it prenatal, physically or intellectually challenged, elderly and everything in between. All along we will notice a withdraw from materialism, greed, jealousy, hatred, confusion, murder, all forms of assault, crime in general. We will have a tremendous drop in depression, suicide, physical and mental illness of all kind and our prosperity will return. God will not force us to choose Him though. But I suspect He will allow us to loose everything worldly in an attempt to save us eternally. Idolatry my friends. If we think a President or company job or money or human intellect will save us or even just sustain us, then the Almighty will humble us and teach us the hard way that man does not save himself. That is what we are seeing now. Those who faithfully obey the Father and live (including vote) accordingly, attend Mass, pray, receive holy communion, go to eucharistic adoration, confession, recite the rosary, fast, make daily morning offerings and so on are the ones who channel the grace of God throughout the world and buy us all a little time to repent. The beast and the world are trying to shut you down so please don’t think for a moment that our courts, our government or another government cannot or will not come in and attempt to force you “legally” or otherwise to embrace homosexuality or in some other way demand you choice between God and jail or God and life because we are fighting those fights right now! It would be impossible to overturn these laws after they are passed. It is happening all around us in our state borders and in Washington and in our neighboring countries. WE MUST FIGHT UNCEASINGLY RIGHT NOW! Pray, fast, offer up your sufferings to God and suffer them well with love. Do all mother church in her wisdom prescribes. Write to congressman and senators, sign petitions, support organizations that expose, educate and combat these evils with donations of time and money. Protest, picket and never budge on issues of morality and decency in your own life or in our society and its laws. Ours is a government by and for the people so do not let these handfuls of people control us and the masses who oppose homosexuality, who oppose infanticide, want to hear and say Merry Christmas, who want God The Father who is truth in our courts of law and justice, who want the ten commandments on display in public buildings. You and I are in charge. We elect officials. We decide our laws and we choose God. We are fighting this right now in America!
 
How did we get caught up in the games that our forfathers established,how could I have believed subserviance to man ment abuse and exploitation, and how can I endure watching women do that to eachother and men…instead of judging, it is time to take a stand in self and pray as they did once before for the fall of sodom and gommra, mind the spelling…with the words of christ in our hearts as we look out into this caos and remember his words…father forgive them they know not what they do.

Let God judge that which we have difficulry understanding, forgivness opens doors and obliterates judgement, I am learning this and though it is still a difficult lesson to learn, I charish the journey…no no no God to judgement as its far to late to turn back time. This is it , we all unconsciously allowed these manifestations by our own thoughts and support eachother that are like minded and judge thosewho are not. A constant battle of the soul…I judged therfore I was judged.

While we can not judge the state of anyone’s soul, we can and should judge actions. Saint Paul himself urged us to do so.

By falling asleep at the switch, Catholics permitted much of this madness to blossom.

I have a question about this:
Holy Mother Chruch? What does that mean? My understanding of “church” is all about giving honor and glory and praise to God. When did God start calling church, Holy Mother Church?
God never describes himself as ‘mother’. He is out father, and our husband, our friend, savior, refuge, high tower, cornerstone, healer, comforter, bread of life, etc., the list goes on but never says, mother.
Thank you to anyone who can explain this one according to the Word of God.

Anyone who believes in God and his Holy Word will be subject to what you have posted links to. We have to contact our representatives in government and demand that they keep God in the picture and freedom of speech. And that our churchs stay out of the hands of government. Pray, pray, and pray.
