I understood what you were trying to say. I was teasing you (not in a mean way, I hope ;)) for the way you said it, which seemed to me to be potentially offensive to Jewish people.

That’s why it’s always helpful to look up in the right hand corner of a post and take note of the religion of the person posting. 😛 😃 If the poster doesn’t have anything listed, I just assume they are non-Catholic. It makes life easier. 🙂

There’s a sense in which I agree with that.

The sense is ‘within a Christian context’, the ‘Tanakh’ and ‘Old Testament’ have different significances in the two religions and we don’t ‘read’ them in the same way. Insights are, therefore, often orthogonal.

Christianity isn’t ‘Judaism + Jesus’ and Judaism isn’t ‘Christianity - Jesus’.
