Okay ladies something fun and silly... how did he propose?

i love mooshy romance, and believe me the ONLY time my guy has been Romeo romantic is when he proposed. he took me to the Grand Canyon the day after Christmas, we were in Arizona for Christmas visiting his family, and i was a little blue since it was the first Christmas for me away from home. i had always wanted to see the Grand Canyon so we went. it was breathtaking! and it was snowing! im from Texas this is a rare sight. so i was as giddy as a little girl. then he took me right to the edge got on one knee in front of everyone there in the snow and proposed,and gave me his Grandmothers ring. i sobbed and people clapped and took pictures, we got emails a week later from people who had cameras with them, they got our email addresses so they could send us pictures of our engagement. it was great!

now i find it romantic if he remembers to take the trash out. oh well i will always have that memory of that one beautiful moment. okay ladies get some tissues and share yours!
 
Let me ask you ladies your opinion on a slightly different topic: my girlfriend will being flying in the day before Thanksgiving. When I pick her up, I’m planning on having a dozen roses and put her engagement ring in the little envelope in the flowers. When she opens the envelope to read what she thinks is a card, I’m going to ask her right then. Any thoughts?
 
Dont propse to her in the airport! propose to her in front of your family! i love the rest of it though! make sure you get on one knee that is sooooooo romantic and sweet. i love that youre putting some thought into it. my girlfriends fiance proposed to her during a commericial break! :nope: bad idea. she still hasnt forgiven him for that. just my opinion but make sure she’ll have a story to tell! YOU ARE SO SWEET FOR ACTUALLY PUTTING SOME THOUGHT INTO IT!!
 
well, I don’t want to do it in front of my parents. The reason I thought about doing it at the airport is because she thinks I’m up to my usual skeeming and have trying to be over the top. But if I do it this way, it totally catches her off guard.
 
SURPRISE HONEY ITS ME!! no just kidding! i live in the Houston area, but my bestfriend lives in Dallas she goes to Baylor nursing school there. great city!

OIC. shes one of those lucky girls whos guy does great stuff all the time. im lucky but not that lucky! then yes absolutely surprise is the best part of the whole thing! how old are yall if you dont mind me asking?

For some reason (must be the stress at work), my heart just stopped at those first 4 words. lol.

Dallas is ok, but not my kind of town. Thankfully she is moving back here next summer. We met when she was a grad student here in Columbia at USC. I guess I’m just a true Son of the South and don’t want to leave here.
 
if you mean SC to be south carolina i love it! i was born there!
 
I do mean South Carolina darlin’! I was born and raised in Camden, but I live in Columbia now.

Yeah, I go out of my way to make her feel special, because she is to me. To answer your question, I’m 25 and she’s 27.
 
We were poor college students. He proposed while we were sitting on the couch in his apartment. “Will you marry me?” No frills. One of my roommates got engaged around the same time. Her boyfriend wrote “will you marry me” on a big cookie and gave it to her! —KCT
 
We went to a noon Mass on my 32nd birthday. Mass was in a little side chapel, and afterwards I wanted to show him the impressive crucifix in the main church. We sneaked in & were quietly looking at it…when I turned around, there he was dropping to one knee & holding out a ring, & I realized, “Oh my goodness, this is IT!” He’ll never top that birthday gift…
 
Well lets see. When I was a junior in high school my husband signed my year book and at the end of it he asked me to marry him. You guys I have to let you know we had only been dating 2 1/2 months. But I was in love:love: .

The next day I had a horrible day with my mom (she had pychological problems) I packed up some stuff and he came and got me.We went to the park where we had met. We sat at the spot where we met and out of his black leather motorcycle jacket (It was 1989) he pulls out a little velvet box. And in it was a ring with a tiny little diamond (It was like a promise ring. We were in highschool,so it’s not like we had much money.) He got on one knee and I threw my arms around him before he even got the words out. ( I did end up going back home that night.)

Six month later we broke up and I gave the ring back. In anger he put it down a sewer drain. :crying: We were on again off again over the next 8 months. Then while we were split up again, he signed up for the Navy. We met up at “our” park to say our goodbyes and ended up getting back together. About 3 weeks before he was to leave he asked me to marry him again at that same park. We went to the mall, picked out rings and put them on lay away.

Now 4 days before he was to leave we got in a big fight and decided we weren’t ready for the marriage thing yet. But we were still a couple. About three weeks into bootcamp I get a long letter from my husband (then boyfriend) and in that letter he again asks me to marry him. I get a phone call later on that day from him and I give him answer which was yes. Three months later were married. So it took 3 tries before it finally stuck. It’ll be 14 years this Feb. And I’m still madly in love with the guy.❤️
 
I wish I had such wonderful memories. I had just gotten a new job with pretty good medical benefits. My late husband said now that you have some medical, might as well get married. 😦

He HATED weddings, so you guessed it, I never had one. No honeymoon either. We did go out to dinner though, he took along his favorite newspaper to read. :mad:

On the plus side though, he was a GREAT husband and father, just never never EVER romantic 😦
 
it was after is Hernia repair. I was changing the dressing of his stitch. He looks at me and says wanna marry me?

Romantic huh…:whacky:
 
It was during the busyness of pre-exam time this past march…we went home for his brother’s birthday. he made up some silly reason for why he enjoyed walks on overcast days (it was overcast), and we went to this park by my house. he started talking about our history, and i was thinking he was in some strange mushy mood, when all of a sudden he went, “ahhhhhhhh ok…i’m just stalling”. i started freaking out (happily) as i knew what was coming, and he went down on one knee and the rest is kind of a blur…except for skipping home 😉
 
he had just graduated from navy boot camp. He was still there and i was visiting him for the weekend.In the naval base parking lot, We were talking in the truck. he then got out ,came around to open my door and got on his knee .
