WASHINGTON (CNS) – “Humanae Vitae” (“Of Human Life”), Pope Paul VI’s encyclical on artificial contraception and the role of procreation in marriage, turns 40 July 25 and seems to be finding new life across the country.
From natural family planning initiatives to sexual abstinence programs for teenagers, parishes and dioceses are increasingly adopting Pope Paul’s vision for a world built on fidelity in marriage and the love shared by husband and wife as the cornerstone of a stable world.

Well this is certainly good news. I hope and pray that Humanae Vitae continues to find new life and that people continue to follow the wisdom that is in this encyclical. 👍

I believe in 1968, that those we trusted the most let us all down. Catholics were told that contraception was ok and left to your own conscious. Dissident priest and Bishops went against the Magesterium of the Holy Catholic Church and the natural law.

My prayers are that the damage to the souls of the people that were taught wrongly will be held blameless. That the priests and Bishops that promoted this wrong teaching will confess what they did and do their best to repair the damage done to Holy Mother Church and each and every tender soul they led into the "darkness’.

IMHO From the time that the “dissidents” started teaching their personal opinions and not the Magesterium society has been in a downward spiral.
