It has been 14 years since that tragic day. As each generation passes, so too do we naturally forget what people felt. The same thing goes for Pearl Harbor and various other events in U.S. history.
However, I don’t think we have let the event wither away from our minds in vain. Many of my friends have offered prayers and condolences for the families of the victims. My history teacher held a discussion about the events in class. And what I found most astonishing is how charitable people were. The Red Cross Group I lead at school organized a short notice donation drive for American Veterans, with an emphasis on their service since 9/11. We raised 500 dollars in five minutes. The fact that we did those shows that our fellow citizens still care and would never let a brother in God suffer alone.
