Does anyone know when this philosophy first appeared? Just curious.
PM me.I can not answer the question, as I have no way of understanding how past, present and future acts can be forgiven by a action of faith today.
Always is a watch word.
Simply put, in the 16th Century Protestant reformer John Calvin taught that God had chosen His “elect” before the world began. If you are one of the elect you can never lose your salvation.Does anyone know when this philosophy first appeared? Just curious.
**It was during the Protestant Revolt that came some 1500 years after Jesus established his Church. As Third Day has already commented - it has its origins in the writings of Luther and Calvin.Does anyone know when this philosophy first appeared? Just curious.
And then, due to the utter ineptness of god, it took 1500 years for people to figure this out.I think about 33 AD
Key words: I think That is an assumption, not a fact!I think about 33 AD
And to finish the thought:Simply put, in the 16th Century Protestant reformer John Calvin taught that God had chosen His “elect” before the world began. If you are one of the elect you can never lose your salvation.
Martin Luther taught that the only way you can lose your salvation is if you stop believing. Martin Luther had this to say:
“If you are a preacher of grace, then preach a true and not a fictitious grace; if grace
is true, you must bear a true and not a fictitious sin. God does not
save people who are only fictitious sinners. Be a sinner and sin boldly, but
believe and rejoice in Christ even more boldly. . . . as long as we are here
[in this world] we have to sin. . . .** No sin will separate us from the Lamb**,
even though we commit fornication and murder a thousand times a day.”
i think you are correct. however, it was not a belief taught by Jesus or his apostles. it was taught by varying sects of paganism. some taught if you believed their scriptures and said a little prayer, you would be good to go. its origins are NOT with Christianity. PeaceI think about 33 AD
And now they have shows on late night TBN. :takeoff:some taught if you believed their scriptures and said a little prayer, you would be good to go. its origins are NOT with Christianity. Peace![]()

of every tree in the garden you may eat. except the tree of the knowledge of good an evil. for in the day you eat of it, you shall surely die. hmmmm. looks like they were given a choice to me. and living in paradise was a conditional promise. they chose to eat of the tree, and fall away from where God had put them. so where is once saved always saved taught in genises? im curious. PeaceYou know, come think about it, I think I was wrong. It started where in the Bible it says “In the beginning”
