In the beginning Adam and Eve were without sin and were saved and then they freely committed ONE mortal sin and were removed from paradise. The same still holds true today. You know, come think about it, I think I was wrong. It started where in the Bible it says âIn the beginningâ
Jn 10:27 âMy sheep listen to my voice; I know them and they follow me. I give them eternal life and they will never perish. No one can snatch them away from me.âDoes anyone know when this philosophy first appeared? Just curious.
Not that I am a fan of TBNâŚbut (and correct me if I am wrong)And now they have shows on late night TBN. :takeoff:
Oftentimes I donât know what the Word of Faith guys believe - from God being 9 feet tall (thank you Kenneth Copeland) to the Trinity actually have 9 Persons (thank you Benny Hinn) to our salvation not being on the cross but Christâs torture by demons in hell (thank you Joyce Meyer). One of them probably believes in OSAS, and if we dug hard enough weâd probably find one.Not that I am a fan of TBNâŚbut (and correct me if I am wrong)
TBN is âWord of Faithâ Pentecostal/Charismatic is it not. So they are a weird offshoot of traditional PentecostalsâŚlikeâŚme.
One thing that Pentecostal theology is not known for is Eternal Security/Once saved, always saved. In fact they are traditionally opposed to this.
AgainâŚnot that I am a fan of TBNâŚ
StrawberryJam,Why couldlnât all of you just simply work this out somehow, rather than give people like me the idea that you are all so disagreable that the whole idea was a sham to begin with?
Paul Crouch. I feel so bad for him - he looks really out of shape now. He used to look pretty sturdy for a guy his age, but man, how heâs fallen in that regard a bit.I love the guy on TBN with the mustache and the white couch with gold roccocco style furniture and decor everwhere. He has that wife (Jan something or other) that looks like Tammy Fey on steroids. She has five times the mascara and eye liner. Sheâs priceless.
That guyâs the worst of them all to be honest - at least in my opinion. Heâs the one who said since dogs beget dogs and cats beget cats, the Godhead begets gods (ie., we are all gods). Then youâve got a guy with the last name âDollarâ on there, how ironic!

Ah, Jack van Impe. I made a post on my blog about him a while ago, reviewing the supposed prophecies of nuclear weapons in the Bible. My favorite guy is Jack Van Impe. Absolutely priceless! Heâs been on since the early 90âs. My buddy and I used to listen to his âprophesiesâ and crack up. Clinton was supposed to be the anti-Christ, then Saddam, then Osama, then Obama, shoot, probably Bill Cosby will be next. He always quotes Bible verses at break-neck speed, rants and raves, and hands the ânewsâ over to his wacky wife. Priceless.

And yeah, JanâŚmy roommate in college and I used to call her âSkelltor.â Not that I make fun of her for how she looks alone, butâŚyeah really, she looks horrible. How can anyone think that looks attractive?I saw a pic of her young, and she didnât look that bad. What the heck happened? I mean if she lost her hair to cancer, OK, butâŚthere are way better wigs than that. And you donât need the 10-foot long eyelashes.

The worst thing I ever heard him say though involved the parable of the final judgment. He quoted the section about what you do to the least of people you do to Christ, and then came out with, âWhen you have sex with your sister-in-law, youâre havinâ sex with Jesus!!!â
UghâŚprostrates forgive me LordâŚI say that to condemn heresy.
Then he repeated it! In a church! And people were laughing and cheering!! Geez louise! If my pastor said that, even in jest, Iâd get up and walk out.

BTW, regarding his âbreak-neck speedâ Bible verse quoting/citingâŚI have about four years experience in TV production, and I know a thing or two about how it works. People who think Jack van Impe is awesome for quoting Bible verses on his show like that should realize heâs always looking at the camera when he does thisâŚand thereâs usually a teleprompter on most television camerasâŚ
You obviously arenât familiar with the Peculiar Purple Pieman of Porcupine Peak.Skeletor? I donât think so. Honestly, being a He-Man fan as a kid and now passing on that torch to my kids, Skeletor is WAY too classy for TBN. I think he, along with Cobra Commander, was the best bad guy and most likeable of all cartoons. Who else could throw out a âwhy am I surrounded by nincompoops and boobs!?â without a beat!?
You obviously arenât familiar with the Peculiar Purple Pieman of Porcupine Peak.
OrâŚuhâŚ
Yeah, maybe Skeletor was the best.
Yeah but his female co-conspirator was kinda cute. In an evil way.
I think I know this PPPof PP.
He is a rather Pissy Fellow.

You know what villain freaked me out as a kid? The witch from âThe Wiz.â She was ugg-leh. They showed that movie all the time on the Disney Channel when I was a kid, and every time it got to her I was reviled by that giant nose and big black dots all over her face. Oye. And then she sawed the Tin Man in half.Or we could go back to when I was really little with the Kroft Hour from England that included Electra Woman and Dyna Girl (or something like that), the Buggaloos, HR Puff 'n Stuff, and Land of the Lost!

Oh pfft, well of course, best portrayal of evil ever.My favorite baddie was David Warner playing âEvilâ on Time Bandits. Hilarious!

âGod knows nothing about technology. Look how He spends His time: 43 species of parrot; nipples for men!â
My favorite line, when God comes in at the end:
âWhatâs wrong with him?â
âHeâs deadâŚâ
âWell thatâs no excuse for being down on the job!â
