SolaChristoLooking at this not from a theoretical approach but a real world approach. A person makes a decision to have Christ their Savior said:Here is an analogy, probably not a good one.
A person meets the ideal mate. They are married and the spouse is wonderful, kind, loving and is always open to sex. How likely is the person to cheat? Well, we know from experience that very good spouses have husbands and wives who do cheat. Why? Because we are human and if we don’t know our own weakness, we can fall.
I, myself, have the weakness of laziness. For the past several days I haven’t read my bible or said my rosary. Why not? There is no reason except that I am lazy. It is a fault that I must guard myself against.My own personal demon. This might not seem horrendous but I could see that over time, I could fall away from God. It wouldn’t be a conscious, dramatic rebellion, just a gradual dying away.
