St. John 3: 16-17 God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish by have eternal life. For God sent the Son into the world, not to condemn the world, but that the world migh be saved through Him.

One must believe in love.

First comes love, then comes belief, then begins eternal life.

Love and faith are needed in order to be saved.

He pours His love in our new hearts. We need the gift of a new heart. Which has near ears, et cetera.

We hear His voice.

His voice or noise is a sound of love, His eternal Word.

We are saved by His love.

We need to believe His voice or noise of love.

One must believe in patience, kindness, generousity et cetera.

Then God promised He will make us loving.

We hear or believe His voice of love.

We must believe in love.

We need love and faith and new hearts, not to mention hope.

To believe His Son is to accept the Love He pours into our new hearts.

For the Roman Catholics that might read this thread.

Concerning God making us love–I believe the Eucharistic prayer II actually asks God to make us love.

I am just beginning to read St. Augustine’s Faith and Works.

In the introduction, the translator says that St. Augustine taught that faith must be enlivened by charity.

I am just starting the book, but that is an important idea.
