Say the black, do the red is a phrase that is perhaps the key to understanding what the “reform of the reform” means. Basically, in the Missal the ‘black’ texts refers to the words, the ‘red’ to postures or actions - so the priest must do exactly what is in the rubrics and not do his own thing. Make sense?
