I always find that people assume that Islam is a religion of violence. Rather, it is a religion of peace. However, the misinterpretation is caused by militant Islam. Militant Islam is caused by passages within the Koran that warrant violence. The thing is, Muhammad dictated his life experiences. So, in this context, can we truly believe that these passages are correct? One might think that the writer chose to insert passages of his own accord by claiming Muhammad said them himself. Also, looking at history and modern-day, Muslims would rather level a religious tax, or jizya, rather than killing Christians or others of a different faith. That’s just my perspective though. What does everyone else believe?

If Islam is a religion of peace…why do almost never hear of widespread condemnation from the Muslim clerics of terrorist attacks? Instead the large majority are either silent or praising the attacks as a fight for Islam against infidels.

There is little good that can come from Islam. First of all…how could the Angel Gabriel who told Mary she would have the Christ…turn around and tell Mohammad that Jesus was just a prophet. A lesser prophet that Mohammad. The Gabriel of Islam is the Wolf in sheep’s clothing. That is the only being that craves seeing humanity not believe in Jesus the Christ.

I thought Muslims also believe that the Quran does not contain any errors?

I actually believe that someone who is dedicated to live Islam 100% without westernizing it in any way will have no other choice than to go ahead and live all of it including the violence it spreads. Of course you will find a lot of wonderful people who are Muslims, but these are the ones that are luke-warm. Outside of that group of luke-warm and cold Muslims you’ll find what you rightly classify as “militant” Muslims. The trouble is that those are the ones that take the Qur-an and the Hadith to hart and truly live Islam the way it is written here. They are the ones that live this religion, not the peaceful crowd.

I thought Muslims also believe that the Quran does not contain any errors?
They believe that Muhammad got the Qur’an from Gabriel while in a cave… It shouldn’t contain errors… and they are very specific when it comes to handing the original text down.

Islam has always been a religion of peace.

That is a religion of peace for all those who are Islamic.

If you are not Islamic then you are fair game.

Those who are Islamic are not bound to any agreements nor treaties signed with non-Islamic parties.

You have a choice, convert or pay, sometimes that pay is a tax, other times it is your life.

No errors according to the Great Deceiver. The only spiritual being that hates human love for Christ

Excellent post. You hit the nail on the head, in your first sentence. Knowing that extremists kill those who do not agree with their misinterpreted view, would you stay silent to protect yourself? I know we cannot understand that because most of us are willing to speak out, but I guarantee you they are afraid to. Some do praise it but I believe the majority remains silent to protect themselves.

Can we not say the same about the Bible?
The Bible is believed to be inspired by God by all Christians. If you believe the Bible to be inspired by God…then the Quran cannot be. It denies Christ.

Thanks Janet 🙂 I believe in order to understand the Koran, we need to do more than just read or Google passages. We need to understand the times that these books of faith were compiled.

I just own a paperback Qur’an (with a ton of bookmarks in it and markings) and I used an online Qur’an for everybody to check the text (took forever to link the passages too)… The online one is actually better because there is more than just one official translation shown there.

May the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, guard your heart and your mind in Christ Jesus.

In Him,
Janet

Oh, I wasn’t calling you out. I was just saying, some people do do that and say look, violent passages, the whole religion is violent. My bad 🙂

God Bless you as well!😃

I’m sorry, but after the attack by Abdulmutallab recently, on the day of the birth of Our Lord, I just don’t view Islam as a religion of “peace”. I was always skeptical of them. They mistreat women so horribly, they force their adherents to stick to the faith, they tell you that violence for the sake of proselytization is alright in the eyes of God. (When Pope John Paul II (Riposare in Pacem) himself said to let people worship their gods, without tempting them with proselytization into Holy Mother Church)

Peace be with you Janet🙂 Thanks for the posts, they are very educating. I am sure you know that the Christian bible also incites terror and violence to our enemies. Here is St.Paul’s teaching about Christians clarion call to battle.

Ephesians 6:10 Finally, draw your strength from the Lord and from his mighty power.
11
Put on the armor of God so that you may be able to stand firm against the tactics of the devil.
12
For our struggle is not with flesh and blood but with the principalities, with the powers, with the world rulers of this present darkness, with the evil spirits in the heavens.
13
Therefore, put on the armor of God, that you may be able to resist on the evil day and, having done everything, to hold your ground.
14
So stand fast with your loins girded in truth, clothed with righteousness as a breastplate,
15
and your feet shod in readiness for the gospel of peace.
16
In all circumstances, hold faith as a shield, to quench all (the) flaming arrows of the evil one.
17
And take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
18
With all prayer and supplication, pray at every opportunity in the Spirit.

You know the Koran would make perfect sense if the passages you posted were intepreted with St.Pauls theology clarion call for Christian to battle. The difference is Christians do not battle against flesh and blood as does Islam teaches, Christians battle against the evil powers and principalities that influence the flesh.

Christians are filled with the power of God to love our enemies, Islam teaches to Kill or destroy your enemies of the flesh. Our enemies are not our seperated brothers and sisters in the flesh, our enemies are the evil principalities and powers that affect and influence our separated brothers and sisters to Kill one another.

The main reason I will never submit or subscribe to Islam is because Islam teaches “Lie-ing” or “to decieve” is a good Islam virtue.

Taqiyya = lying against unbelievers is a virtue and a religious duty according to the Qu’ran, Haddith (tradition), Islamic Law

Qu’ran

Sura 16:106 Establishes that there are circumstances that can “compel” a Muslim to tell a lie

Sura 3:28 This verse tells Muslims not to take those outside the faith as friends unless it is to “guard themselves”

Sura 40:28 A man is introduced as a believer, but one who must “hide his faith” among those who are not believers

Sura 2:225 “Allah will not call you to account for thoughtlessness in your oaths but for the intention in your hearts”

Sura 66:2 “Allah has already ordained you ( O men), the dissolution of your oaths” Taken collectively these verses are interpreted to mean that there are circumstances when a Muslim may be “compelled” to deceive others for a greater purpose.

Haddith tradition

Bukhari 52:269 The prophet said, “War is deceit” after he murdered Ushayr Ibn Z arim and his 30 unarmed men, by Muhommads men, after he guaranteed them safe passage.

Bukhari 49:857 “He who makes peace between the people by inventing good information or saying good things, is not a Liar, “Lying is Permitted when the end Justifies the Means.

Bukhari 84:64-65 (Speaking from a position of Power) Ali- confirms that “ lying is permissible in order to deceive an enemy”.

Bukhari 52:271 Ka’bbin Al- Ashraf at Muhommads insistence, his men dishonestly gained Ka’bs trust in order to bring him out of hiding, by stating there no longer are Muslims, and then brutally assisinated him.

Islamic law
Reliance of the traveler ( pg. 746) It is obligatory to Lie if the goal is obligatory:

I don’t know if being a slave of God is a misinterpretation of Islam. Personally I could never comprehend this “slave of God” theology of Islam. Maybe by virtue of my Christian baptism, I am graced with the faith of callling God "Abba Father"as a Child of God and not a slave. Maybe someone can explain what it means to be a “slave” of God?

I now that St Paul used the term. But we have a different interpretation of the phrase. We are slaves of Christ through our spirit for Him. Of course that comes from the Holy Spirit.
