One weird fact about you

The haircut thread reminded me, I have never in my life been to a barber or hair stylist. My mom cut my hair until I moved out, and since then I cut it myself.

Oh… how do you get the back part? You must have a mullet? You know, business in the front, party in the back?

So, only 3 people had the guts to take my poll and play the judge? Im disappointed in you people.

I can do that. I’ve able to do it reliably since I was a young girl, but I can’t figure out how it is that it works.

My current weird fact: I’m a bit obsessed with buying velvety plush blankets in pretty colors every fall. So far I’ve managed to limit myself to 3 long throw blankets in some of my favorite colors, so I hope that’s the end of my hibernation preparations.

I went to Catholic school for 3 months. Period.

When my mother, a school teacher herself, went to my school to find out why I was crying every day, she found a my classroom full of rowdy kids, not a teacher in sight. She finally found my teacher, a religious sister, in the sacristy of the church next door, sewing vestments. I was removed from the school that day.

I don’t like fireworks.

I was born of the 5th of July. My mom went into labor at a fireworks display - I didn’t like the noise even as a pre-born child!

🤣
No 😠

But I’m glad you asked (TMI alert): There’s the mirror behind my bathroom sink, then there’s also a mirror on the medicine cabinet that comes off that wall at a 45 degree angle. Opposite that, I placed another mirror which is 90 degrees relative to the first mirror. Therefore, I see all 👁️

Pax Christi!

I kiss old churches. I actually go up to them and kiss the building.

It started when I first arrived in Paris. As soon as I checked into my hotel, I walked across the street and kissed the Cathedral.

Yes, it was a French kiss!

God bless!

I’ve only been inside a high school twice. Once to take the SAT and the other to attend a town meeting. One of the perks of having been homeschooled. I must say, going into that high school for the SAT scared the daylights out of me. Funny, because taking the ACT at the local college didn’t scare me at all.

Me tooo! The price can be pretty reasonable for all that luxurious softness, especially if you buy em from Ross.

Good to see you crossed over.

I veer between Steampunk and 1950s chic. The steampunk less lately as I struggle with it in the cold for some reason. Hitched skirts just aren’t very warm.

Yup, Ross is my hunting ground! I’m giving one or two to my elderly mom since we like the same colors and she’s small and frail… I thought I’d see if the local women’s shelter will take some of my next hunting treasures.

Some people love to express care with gifts of food. I call them “feeders.” I’m a “fluffer”: I like to find velvety blankets for people I care about.

Though I was educated in the US and not home schooled, I never went to pre-school or kindergarten.

Too long ago to say for sure. A few field events, and I think maybe also backstroke in swimming.
I should mention, that when I set the records, (1983, I think it was?) I had little or no competition. I was one of the first to compete in the junior division.

😂😂😂 too funny Mr. Zoom

Is it weird that all churches smell the same to me? Does anyone else notice that too? Its almost as if I can smell the Holy Water or something? I dont know what I smell, but the Holy Water (because the smell is always strongest near the fonts) seems to have a strong clean smell that reaches back to a homey, forever smell of memories… its hard to explain

Totally get you. The smell always sets my mood a certain way.
