Ontario: Catholic schools will not implement government-mandated sex-ed curriculum

Their school, their rules. But, doesn’t this mean they won’t get government funding?

Probably so. They’ll either get fined or their funding will get pulled. Probably their funding will get pulled.
 
Archbishop Terrence Prendergast of Ottawa and an Ottawa Catholic school official said that they will not implement portions of Ontario’s mandatory sex education curriculum.

I hope to God we can resolve this without losing our funding thou. I’m not sure how good I’d be at homeschooling, but I will do it if I have to!
 
I’m sure all Dioceses in Ontario will follow suit.There is a HUGE Catholic(Mostly Cino or Cultural but still Catholic) vote in Ontariariario and that “Catholic” McGuinty will back down,if he doen’t want to be crushed in the next election.There is still a Catholic majority in Ontario.

That’s kind of funny actually. Ontario (Upper Canada, Canada West) was originally created to be a place for English Protestants (read: Anglicans) and to separate them from the French Catholics of Quebec (Lower Canada, Canada East).

His Grace Archbishop Terrance Prendergast (SJ!) is an OUTSTANDING and ORTHODOX man of God. We couldn’t ask for a better Bishop. This is just one more example of the kind of man he is and how he is a man of Faith.
 
Premier Dalton McGuinty has backed down on implementing changes to the sex education curriculum for the province’s Grade 1 to 8 students.

“It’s become pretty obvious to us that we should give this a serious rethink,” he said Thursday at an announcement in London, Ont. “We’ll take it off the shelf and bring it back in government.”

There has been an absolute Catholic uproar in this province and the little jerk did an immediate about face when it occured to him that Catholic voters are in the majority in this province.He’s still going to be tossed out on his ear this next election.what a disgrace to the faith-his last name should be Kennedy.I can hardly wait to read the Toronto star tomorrow which was positively gloating how the secular “gospel” would be imposed on us horrible Catholics.they will be apoplectic with rage.Like Winston Churchill said "democracy is absolutely the worst form of government except for all the others’,DEO GRACIAS!!!
 
I read on the Toronto Sun yesterday that it was the Religious and Social Conservatives who are against the ON government’s expert constructed curriculum (Nice Experts they have there??). I know what Religious means, but what does the term “Social Conservatives” mean? like an outspoken Conservative? I thought this was only being implemented in public schools too not Catholic Schools?

It was to be implemented in ALL schools supported by education taxes,Public and Catholic,The secular gospel was to be imposed upon the Catholic students until there was a figurative lynching of Mcguinty and the Liberal party by outraged Catholics and probably parents of children in public schools.Private Catholic,Non-Catholic Christian ,Muslim and Jewish schools that are entirely funded by parents were exempt.The only reason Catholic schools are publicly fundened is because it is enshrined in the British North America Act.All private religious schools should be funded.

The media and some academics have taken to speaking of two types of conservatives: 1) fiscal conservatives who are focused or free markets, lower taxes, less government intervetion etc and 2) social conservatives who call for government to enforce a more traditional morality in society.

Accordingly to the media and academics, there is a rift in the conservative movement that formed these two groups, but any conservatives I know don’t use those terms to discuss themselves or others-just “conservative”.

Fiscal Conservatives and Social Conservatives are terms that are used in Canada and Canadian Conservatives understand the difference.A fiscal Liberal is one who may be much more supportive of social causes-the poor etc,both foreign and domestic while remaing very conservative on moral issues-much like the Catholic Church…

I’m a new Catholic and new to these political terms. Since being Catholic I’ve been more concerned and working on getting more involved with these topics. I am learning fast that when you stand up for something that you know is right and goes against the mainstream you get blasted with all kinds of name calling. I’ve lived in Canada all my life and really don’t enjoy politics, but have to suck it up to spread the truth of Jesus. So now if I speak about not supporting gay marriage, etc. I’m a classified as a religious extremist, conservative, redneck, homophobic, etc, ect. I’m becoming more mature now to know that these names are just a way for people to make me look stupid or ignorant when expressing God’s truth. This makes Satan really angry so he spreads his lies to people causing them to think we Religious folk hate them all. I always have to keep this in mind and show people I don’t hate them for what they think, but show them first I care about them and then explain why I don’t agree with them. I’m learning that disarming them first is a better method then guns blazing to get my point across.

Be gentle and firm and loving.Their name calling and casting you as the villian is designed to provoke a response and to turn you into an easily dismissed two-dimensional caricature.Bomb them with love and the Truth.You will plant many seeds.It’s up to you to bring the message-it’s up to the Holy Spirit to convict them.
Sometimes it may be necessary to shake the dust off your sandals,but never stop being the Face of Christ to this broken world.God doesn’t ask you to succeed,He asks you to try.
 
If the goverment goes forward with this sex education program they thought up bad things will happen I can see it now a pediphile will be standing in front of the judge and will argue that the child made an informed consent to have sex and all the child porn on his computer was made by said child and sent to him. the western world is heading towards a place that has no standards where anything goes and we will end up with less virgins than in culigula’s court and std’s something everyone has. We are on the razors edge of self-destruction all in the name of freedom to do what we want when we want with no consideration for other or the cosequences of our actions.
