Guess I’m somewhat surprised over this when you consider almost a Million Gays, Lesbians and Transgendered converged on Young Street in Toronto on Sunday for their annual Gay Pride Day Parade (One of the Biggest Gay Pride Events in North America)

But hey; what an irony…the Toronto Mayor purposely didn’t show up to support Gay Pride Day.
Sounds hypocritical that the Toronto Mayor who has been called homophobic by many gays would institute a law that forces publicly funded Catholic Schools to condone gay clubs amongst students. 🤷:sad_yes:
Wrong! The Mayor of Toronto has NO such authority.Education is a provincial concern.Soon to be ex-premier McGuinty is trying to force this down Catholic throats,

Your correct. It was my typo error. Edit time limit ran out…sorry 😊

Ontario Catholics: Dalton McGuinty has no choice but to clear out his office this October.

I ask all to join me in prayer, that this Premier and those MPPs who aim to promote gay clubs in Ontario’s catholic schools, will be removed from public office, by Gds Hand. I prayed for the removal of one Federal MP (2 elections ago) because of her support of same sex marriage, and told this to her face. She is no longer in office. Jesus said ask. For the sake of the children, let’s ask our Heavenly Father, through our Lord Jesus Christ, to remove Ontario politicians who aim to force gay clubs upon catholic schools.

Praying.I will also ask my prayer friends group to do the same.

Are you really a Catholic.Homosexuality is against Church teaching.
Yes, I am really Catholic. And the Church teaches against homosexual activity, not being homosexual.
Why have clubs in Catholic schools that encourage sin and disobedience to Church teaching.
That’s not what I said.
So, just like any other non-Sacramentally married couple, they should be chaste. So counsel them like you would any other kid. That is FORBIDDEN by the provincial government as part of the club construct. This has been levered and manipulated by homosexualist groups for the purposes listed above,The government also wants to Catholic Schools to teach that homosexuality is normal and not sinful directly contradicting Catholic teaching…Caesar is overstepping his bounds and hopefully Hudak will rescind this in October when McFly is kicked to the curb,
So the government can dictate to the private schools in this manner? Is this because the school accepts government funds? Do they insist the same curiculum of the Jewish and Muslim schools?

Except that type of Catholic gay club is not what the Premier or any gay club people will want. Rence, it should be known, has dissented on other Catholic teachings in regard to abortion.
That’s interesting…

Whether the Catholic school system is publicly funded or not is not does not give the Province the right to dictate the teaching environment for Catholics. The Catholic School board has been constitutionally provided a mandate and is to provide education in a school setting that is indicative of Catholic theology, doctrine, and practices.
If the Catholic School Board has been constitutionally rpovided this mandate that assures an education in confromity with the Church’s theology, doctrine and practices, then I don’t understand how the government can dictate that such a club can’t be run in conformity with the Church.

The problem here is that the Catholic schools in Ontario is publicly funded. They’re as free as public schools. So the government has a say in how they should be run. I don’t know how many Catholic parents would want to pay for their kids schooling to protect them from secularism.

Yes, I am really Catholic. And the Church teaches against homosexual activity, not being homosexual.
Good point, the Canadian Bishops did recently issue a statement to that effect. However, a club is an endorsement of a hobby or way of life. Do we have a pre-marital sex club? Or a shoplifter’s club? No. Because they’re wrong. Letting them have clubs means we’re endorsing what they are doing, so it in fact is encouraging the activity.

Don’t want to follow the government’s rules, don’t accept their money.

No, we don’t have a pre-marital sex club…but we have youth clubs that advocate chastity. A gay club can do the same. A club doesn’t have to be an endorsement of a hobby or a way of life. It can be a support group for those who share a way of life too. I’m not saying that I am in agreement of a club that advocates and nurtures the gay lifestyle. I’m saying, what about a club geared especially for (a safe-haven for) gays that teaches them to live within the teachings of the Church like any other youth club in a Catholic environment. If the government has the right in Canada to make schools have a club for gay students, a support group as the article said, then it would behoove them to moderate it in a way that propagates Catholic values. And I think it would be wise for them to do so until they can get the law appealed or changed. Unless forfeiting government fundings will enable them to avoid this new law. Which, in that case, they should do immediately.

Your conjecture is EXPRESSLY forbidden by this law. Promotion of chastity and celibacy within the teachings of the Church in these clubs is FORBIDDEN by this provincial law in CATHOLIC:eek: schools. It is also forbidden to have Courage Clubs. This is merely an attempt by Caesar to undermine Catholic Teaching to ALL Catholic school children.

``Unless forfeiting government fundings will enable them to avoid this new law. Which, in that case, they should do immediately.```

What a simplistic suggestion.Do you know how difficult that would be when at least half the provinces schools are Catholic.Catholic education is guaranteed under the British North America Act.

That is why I asked if she was Catholic.

My parents did for their four sons and my Dad was nominally protestant.I would. We should go to a voucher system where differing Christian,Muslim,Jewish,Hindu,Atheist, etc can be educated religiously in the totality of school religious observance.During our last provincial election John Tory proposed exactly the same thing and immediately crashed in the polls he was leading and handed the election to CINO McFly or Premier Dad because enlightened Ontario was terrified of funding Muslim schools WHICH THEY HAVE ANYWAY.

The government is trying to homogenize thought and drive religion to a tiny corner, witness the Kangaroo Courts known as the Human Rights Commissions.Google Ezra Levant and Mark Steyn on this sack of rotten fish.

Don’t want to follow the government’s rules, don’t accept their money.
*OUR *money. *MY *money.

Each individual in Ontario specifies to which school board, public or Catholic, will recieve that portion of our property taxes for education. As such, I believe the mandate does not belong to the provincial government to dictate the doctrine that is taught in our Catholic schools. Unless a law is being broken, I do not think the government should force the school board to change it’s policy’s.

That can not happen, as was stated, it is forbidden by Ontario law to teach chastity and celibacy. Anyways, even if the students of this ridiculous “gay group” did set it up, promising to support chastity, celibacy, and obedience to the Church, you know bloody well behind doors that is not what’s going to happen. There will be pride flags and streamers, and feather masks, etc. Promoting the gay culture, promoting dissent from Church teachings. UNACCEPTABLE in a CATHOLIC SCHOOL.

A “Gay Club” can not be a safe haven for those struggling with SSA. Some people, who are struggling with SSA do not identify with being “gay” and are not “gay”. They have a heavy cross to bear. Like I said earlier. The homosexualists can get there own way, and if they don’t, you better watch out because there’s gonna be noise. When we want our teachings valued (might I mention, the teachings of God’s one, holy, and apostolic Church) no, that can’t happen. That’s intolerant and bigoted. (I am not for tolerance, I am for reform, but for those who preach tolerance, they better realise that tolerance is a two-way street).
