if they REALLY UNDERSTOOD they would not be doing this!

I might be misunderstanding you, but I’m thinking what you mean is that if they really believed in the Church’s authority and teachings, then they would not be doing such things.

I understand many different groups and people’s positions on certain matters, but I don’t agree with all of them, example: I understand the pro-choice position, but I don’t agree with it for one second.

In reality, sin is almost by definition the deliberate choosing of evil over good.
