The standard is guilty beyond reasonable doubt…which has morphed to “beyond ANY doubt” since too many juries spend their time watching CSI and think that if you don’t have the Pope as an eyewitness, DNA and a videotape to watch there is always “reasonable” doubt. In this case there is much more than reasonable doubt. Zimmerman’s case looks better everyday and that’s with PROSECUTION witness testimony.
It was a Florida jury that let Casey Anthony walk - many of them agreed that she probably helped kill her child - they were just waiting for the “CSI” moment that took it beyond all doubt.

This is true. You just never know. Last year, there were people who just knew that Zimmerman is a racist hater who stalked and murdered an unarmed black child simply because he was walking while black. There were also people who just knew that Martin was a violent young thug who picked a target that was armed this time and he just got what he had coming to him when his victim fought back. Presented with as much information as was available at the time, (even though most of it was manipulated, spun and fraught with emotional appeal because the media fed the public a totally false representation of both men involved), people still came to those two very different conclusions. So, you just never know.

I’m wondering if the defense will rest without even presenting a case. Thus far the prosecution showed Martin to be a racist thug that appears to have been the aggressor. Why pile on? 🤷
Zimmerman’s life is at stake.

We have the advantage of not having any skin in the game.

I am sure if our lives were the ones at risk here, we would want the evidence to pile higher then this…much higher.

So the police that first arrived at the scene testified that the back of Zimmermans jacket and pants were wet with grass on them as if he had been laying in grass and Martins body was face down when they arrived. They also testified that Zimmerman was completely cooperative, never asked for a lawyer and that he volunteered that he had shot Martin, that he still had his gun on his person and that Zimmerman repeatedly said he yelled for help and that he looked confused.

And a neighbor testifies at how the fight was at the edge of the grass and sidewalk and took place on both surfaces with Martin on top the whole time.

Do these prosecutors actually think these witnesses they keep calling are helping their case? I don’t get it.
It was stated they call these witnesses on purpose before the defense does for legal reasons. I’m not sure why I didn’t really understand the concept of it.
Mary.

I think it’s to prevent it from looking to the jury that they were hiding witnesses who didn’t say what they wanted them to say.

How can Zimmerman possibly receive a fair trial when the mainstream media and President of the United States declared him guilty from day one of the story? Mainstream media/Obama interference in this is the ultimate obstruction of justice. Because of this, blacks will riot if Zimmerman is not given a guilty verdict. There is no way possible for this to be a fair trial. This should have never even gone to trial in the first place.

It doesn’t matter why, it matters what they said. The girlfriend was touted as their star witness after all. And generally they would put up witnesses that refute the story they are trying to tell after they have made their case. They don’t start with the worst witnesses. Even the police witnesses supported the contention that Zimmerman was on this back on the ground during the fight and Martin was found face down.

Ones wonders if the judge will dismiss the case after the prosecution rests. They have yet to present any evidence that refutes what Zimmerman said

I agree.

It’s really disturbing to me that ANY of us could be in put in this position if we ever have to defend ourselves.

It wasn’t really day one. As I recall, Zimmerman wasn’t charged with anything early on because there wasn’t enough evidence to support that. Then, because of protesting, perhaps largely brought about due to media spin and manipulation after the story went national, the case was revisited and he was charged. (I freely admit that my recall may not be 100% accurate, but I think I may have the gist of the way things happened anyway.)

That’s how I remember it also. If not for the public/media outcry, I doubt he ever would have been charged…because it was obvious that he was defending himself. But outrage happened, a President stuck his nose in where it doesn’t belong, and superiors had jobs to hold on to.

Your recollection conforms to my own. The President acted irresponsibly when he made prejudicial comments on the case. This was accompanied by an onslaught of political media propaganda, including the display of a childhood photo of Trayvon. It may be that Zimmerman rushed in where angels fear to tread but it does seem he was being brutally beaten and feared for his life. Perhaps Trayvon was walking while being black but then Zimmerman was legally carrying a pistol while being white. Will political correctness decide the outcome or will justice prevail?

The spin goes on. This is not really news, but the media will run with it.

I do have to question why one would post this picture with that description to give something for the media to run with? And after the silly knock-knock joke too? Questionable decisions there.
More evidence of the racism that permeates Zimmerman s side. They were eating VANILLA ice cream!!!#

Oh wow, heaven FORBID he would spend some time with his family during a court recess. The nerve of him.

If Zimmerman is acquitted, I think police will have to be put on alert in at least a few hundred cities and towns across the USA. Even TV news shows have now mentioned the threats being made on Twitter in the event of an acquittal.

Don’t say it. I was in L.A. during the Rodney King riots.

Although I never understand why they always destroy their own neighborhoods. That makes no sense.

“they?”
Do you have trouble comprehending pronouns?

they |T͟Hā|
pronoun third person plural ]
1 used to refer to two or more people or things previously mentioned or easily identified

Or is this just the usual “they?” comment used by liberals to try an imply bias. Yes I’m quite familiar with those tactics.
