Do you have trouble comprehending pronouns?

they |T͟Hā|
pronoun third person plural ]
1 used to refer to two or more people or things previously mentioned or easily identified

Or is this just the usual “they?” comment used by liberals to try an imply bias. Yes I’m quite familiar with those tactics.
My didn’t mean to ruffle your feathers; calm down.
Just clarifying who “they” means.
I prefer to hear from the person that posted it quite frankly but carry on.

Sorry, those little one word replies that contain the typical liberal flippant response are pretty common. If that wasn’t your intention I apologize.

No problem. I’m a very conservative Catholic. I’m here to learn more about various opinions. It’s a tragic case all the way around and a young man dead and a man on trial a long with the huge implications for safety for himself and his family during this time.

Legal experts all seem to believe there is plenty of reasonable doubt and he will be acquitted.

I can see both sides of the story but a man should not be tried by the President or in the media for his is innocent until proven guilty.

How can Zimmerman possibly receive a fair trial when the mainstream media and President of the United States declared him guilty from day one of the story? Mainstream media/Obama interference in this is the ultimate obstruction of justice. Because of this, blacks will riot if Zimmerman is not given a guilty verdict. There is no way possible for this to be a fair trial. This should have never even gone to trial in the first place.
It wasn’t really day one. As I recall, Zimmerman wasn’t charged with anything early on because there wasn’t enough evidence to support that. Then, because of protesting, perhaps largely brought about due to media spin and manipulation after the story went national, the case was revisited and he was charged. (I freely admit that my recall may not be 100% accurate, but I think I may have the gist of the way things happened anyway.)
It was from day one of the story since the mainstream media edited the 911 tape to make Zimmerman look like a racist while showing a picture of a 12 year old instead of the 5 ft 11 in 17 year old that Trayvon was. This means they were attempting to portray Zimmerman as guilty from day one. And Obama’s public statement where he sided against Zimmerman was shortly after the story about it first came out (and before it was discovered that the media edited the tape).

I agree that it was from day one that the news was manipulated and spun once it hit the national news. It took a few weeks before it hit the national news, though, I think.

Obama already declared him guilty. So I don’t even know why they are having this trial.

Absolutely. The MEDIA should be on trial as well. They were disgusting, aided and abetted by the usual suspects, race baiters and of course POTUS weighs in on yet another subject about which he is totally ignorant.

I can certainly understand an initial bit of shock…a purported vigilante after an unarmed black teenager. But the facts don’t quite comport with the “he was hunted down like a DAAWWWWG…” from that horrible Representative long before SHE actually learned any pertinent facts.

If you look at the case from the perspective of an outsider, the facts comport with Zimmerman’s testimony from day one. We can debate whether or not he should have done ANYTHING beyond “if you see something, say something” but nothing in his past or his testimony indicates he was lying in wait for the next black kid in a hoodie who was in a gated community (this was yet another representative’s charge).

It’s hard to say anything, I’m white and any bias I felt was minimal in comparision to what blacks feel. But I am so sick of racism being ASSUMED if the encounter or the words were spoken by a white person. The media was trying VERY hard to call Zimmerman white but he doesn’t even LOOK white and along with his Latino heritage, shouldn’t be lumped into the “white” category because it comports with someone’s storyline. Further I would bet money if George Zimmerman had been black and Trayvon Martin had been white, race would NOT have been the subject.

Yes, I’ve seen him repeatedly referred to as a white hispanic in the media. Ironic since Martin was the one that was using racial slurs, apparently according to his girl friend.

The witness is 19…is in year 12…and cannot read or write cursive…is this possible in an American school in 2013???
I would say it is possible with such extensive use of computers this day and time, and I understand the young lady’s first and home language was Spanish and Creole, Also many people, early on, get into the habit of printing notes. I have a daughter-in -law does not write cursive. Peace, Carlan

YES! And Ms Janteal noting that Martin referred to Zimmerman as a N**** and a crazy a** cracker was one of the more cringeworthy moments for those portraying Martin as a sweet teenage boy just out to buy Skittles.

Oh yes, I remember now that hoodies and Skittles and Arizona Iced Tea became symbols in support of Martin, didn’t they? Wonder how many people who protested with Skittles and Arizona Iced Tea knew about Drank or Lean? I’m guessing some were aware, maybe even many were aware since it appears to be a cultural thing, but putting that information out didn’t fit in with the narrative and spin that made Zimmerman out to be an evil white monster who stalked and murdered a black child and Martin out to be that completely innocent and sweet, sweet child.

The poor boy is dead, what are you all doing trying to justify it, It is very plain indeed that this tragedy did not have to happen , nor was it deserved. Peace, Carlan

I am not happy about being manipulated and deceived by the media. If they had just done their jobs and just reported the news 16 months ago, this situation would not have been spun up to the point that we might have rioting and more bloodshed if Zimmerman is acquitted. The media was deliberately divisive and will be partially responsible if violence erupts then.

The poor boy is dead, what are you all doing trying to justify it…
Justify it? I just want facts and justice.

We’ve always known it did not have to happen. I’m sure both men would have chosen differently had they known the outcome of their actions before that evening. Hindsight is always 20/20.

Last year I posted the following on a thread that is now closed. I think I was fair to Martin in trying to figure out what happened, what he may have been thinking, feeling. But, I’ve since realized that the media didn’t even attempt to be fair to Zimmerman at all, and in the process, they were very unfair to all of America.

SwizzleStick:
That is what is so haunting about this case for me. I have a son who turned 14 in January. He is often mistaken for a grown man, but he doesn’t have the experience or judgment of a grown man. Trayvon is dead at 17. Why? Was his youth and accompanying teen judgment a part of the reason for that? I don’t know if I can articulate my thoughts and feelings, but I’ll try.

I don’t know what happened the night Trayvon died. Perhaps because of his youth, Trayvon tried to react with swagger and bravado to a man following him, not an unusual reaction for a teen, thought he could cow or best the man behind him. It is truly, truly tragic if that possible idea, that possible reaction, cost him his life. Perhaps instead he acted as a violent young man, came out swinging, tried to end Zimmerman as Zimmerman says, but I wasn’t there, so I will wait to see what the investigation reveals. But, I keep thinking about what may have happened that night and I am haunted at the idea that maybe Trayvon was just trying to be tough. He had every right to be where he was, though I don’t know if he was actually acting suspiciously or not as claimed, and maybe he wanted to respond to being challenged by being tough and not backing down, being right, and now he is dead because of it. That thought is what is so horrific to me.

It seems to me with the exception of one or two posters here you are all surmising, not good , why not allow justice to come about according to our system. It is not good to suppose riots and such according to the out come. Peace, Carlan

Ummm…there is no supposing riots. There are calls for them on twitter from those who have already tried and convicted Zimmerman based on the fact the victim was black. The more it looks like he will get acquitted, the worse the tweets get. It is just plain nuts! I hope and pray that it’s all just saber rattling. :gopray2: If not, there could be a lot more stand your ground trials in FL in the coming year.

The Catholic Church teaches that if you’re in a situation where you reasonably fear that someone is trying to kill you (such as them banging your head into the sidewalk) then you can use lethal foce if necessary.

What do think of George Zimmerman. I think that his trial is a repeat of the Duke lacrosse case.
