Since he didn’t remember the street names during a stressful event, he is quite obviously GUILTY OF MURDER!

I don’t even know why they’re bothering with the whole “2nd degree” bit, or even having the trial at all.

[/sarcasm]
No one has said he is guilty of murder because of that.

Oh no: I’ve been challenged by a poster to name ONE person that believes no trial should have been held now there are THREE RECENTLY that have come forward.

Ah ha! You are number two! 😃

Personally, I’ve had no problem with it going to trial. That said, if there was compelling evidence from the beginning, it probably wouldn’t have gone to trial without the vigilante media hounds demanding it go to trial.
Add Number 3 today of RECENT posters that have said as such or said they did say as much LOL…
I’ll keep track now and let you know since it’s of some import to you. 🙂

That would be Post 519 Scipio 337.

Many of us become indifferent to much, and become only concerned with our immediate self and cares, however a man who is captain of a neighborhood watch should have a thorough knowledge of his neighborhood layout, In the zimmernan’s place you only have three streets:hmmm:
THREE STREETS? Oh no wonder he can’t remember.hmmm is right. That’s the captain of the neighborhood watch? No wonder they settled the Martin wrongful death suit.

I wonder if he is acquitted if he’ll still be captain of the neighborhood watch?

My fear is if he is acquitted, there may some rioting. It’s already been threatened in some Twitter posts on the internet.
I’m afraid with all this media attention he may not get a fair trial, and he deserves one just like everyone else.

Are you concerned the jurors are biased?
Most every legal expert says he’ll be acquitted for there is a lot of reasonabe doubt since the other “witness” is dead.

No I don’t think they’re biased…I’m reasonably sure the jury selection routed out anyone that showed bias.
I just don’t like all this media attention. And I don’t like cameras in the court room, either.
I agree that there is a lot of reasonable doubt. Only 2 people know exactly what happened-and one is dead. None of the other witnesses saw or heard much of anything to either corroborate or discount Zimmerman’s version of events.
I do think he was overcharged.

Generally when someone is convicted of murder the other witness is dead.

Who has been convicted of murder? Does not convicted mean they are resposible for the murder of another. That is not George Zimmerman.

Zimmerman is on trial for murder. If he is convicted, then he will be convicted of murder.

And as I said, generally when someone is convicted of “murder” the other person is dead. It is pretty hard to convict anyone of murder if no one died.

Martin had a violent history as well.
Although the judge does not want to hear of it, it is still pertinent.

This leaves us with two people in the rain at night.somewhere along the way, Martin ended up beating Zimmerman, caused injury to Zimmerman’s face and head and injured his own knuckles from the beating.

He was subsequently shot and killed in what was claimed to be self defense.

I see no reason to think otherwise at the present time.
Well stated.

On this thread the majority of people seem to favor Zimmerman.
(No I did not tabulote the numbers )
It’s not a matter of favoring Zimmerman over Martin or the prosecution, or whomever…it’s simply that so many people…ESPECIALLY the media…have attempted to paint him as a racist and had him convicted over a year ago. In fact the only reason he’s on trial at all was from unwarranted interference and undo pressure from the media trying to create ratings.

No the majority of people favor justice. I think that Zimmerman’s activities that night are not without fault. But the evidence is overwhelming that he ended up on the ground with Martin on top of him. From a legal standpoint it doesn’t matter how he ended up on the ground or how severe the injuries he received were. All that matters is that he reasonably feared for his life.

This is a tragedy all the way around. There are no good guys or bad guys, no winners or losers in this tragedy -a tragedy that has been compounded by being turned into a nationwide show trial. It should never went to trial.

This tragedy also shows the racial divisions in this country, although not in the way a lot of the Martin supporters believe it does. Those who believe that there was a racial component to this tragedy overwhelmingly believe Zimmerman is guilty of second-degree murder. Those who do not overwhelmingly believe he is not guilty.

I understand what she means. If you followed this thread from the beginning, and are an objective thinker, you would question how it can be possible that some people don’t see any inconsistencies with Zimmerman’s story after everything that has been presented.

You can say that the evidence isn’t compelling and question whether the prosecution can prove their stance beyond reasonable doubt. That’s fine. But to deny that there are inconsistencies and holes in Zimmerman’s story after it has been repeatedly proven to be the case only reflects a formed mindset in my opinion.

I believe everybody should accept the outcome of this trial. But it is more than clear to me that some folks here will never, if Zimmerman is found guilty.
I see no inconsistencies that would lead a reasonable person to believe he was not telling the truth.
