I was glad to hear that Di Maio brought up the issue of brain damage without visible outer damage. When Rao was talking, minimizing Zimmerman’s injuries (do you remember the picture of his broken nose!!!), all I could think of was the sad discovery that all these football players have terrible brain problems due to being hit all the time and they never had a scratch–just the impact throwing their brain against the inside of their skulls gave them permanent damage, sometimes leading to an early death.

I guess it boils down to the fact if you really think some person has the right to follow around another person with a loaded gun. (Even at a safe distance as you noted )
It’s simply dangerous and deadly.

The experts all agree Zimmerman will be acquitted but I only point this out as to how we can prevent deaths like this in the future.
George has been doing this NW a long time. He knows the drill and doesn’t have a history of aggressive behavior while on patrol. So while he may have been annoying, there is no evidence he initiated physical conflict.

You seem to be arguing a policy of appeasement, wishing if only George had stayed in his car or maybe just stayed home? Whether you call it avoidance or appeasement, history has shown it a complete failure as a policy to prevent death/crime. People with good intentions must actively confront wrong doers, and there will be occasional mishaps such as this one.

For perspective, didn’t Chicago have 67 shootings over the weekend? Their laws in effect force good men to avoid evil doers. I believe If they had active NW groups that were legally armed, the overall level of gun violence would drop sharply. Yes, they might have a few cases like Zimmerman but the overall level of violence would drop.

Tucker R, I’m going to post a blue excerpt from your link above because a lot of people will not click on a just link with no idea of the content.

I hope we don’t see more of this kind of thing if Zimmerman is acquitted, but I fear that we will.

"Mob beats man on his own front porch “for Trayvon”…press ignores (Photos)

Mobile, AL – On Saturday night, Matthew Owens told a group of kids to stop playing in the middle of street, only to have them return with a group of adults who dished out a beating that landed him in the Intensive Care Unit, according to police.

Police say that the group of 20 assailants used chairs, pipes and paint cans to waylay Owens on his own front porch.

The victim’s sister, Ashley Parker, told News 5: “It was the scariest thing I have ever witnessed.” She said the attackers used “brass buckles, paint cans and anything they could get their hands on.”

Parker added that as her brother lie on the ground bleeding, one of the assailants looked back and shouted: “Now that’s justice for Trayvon!”…

Defense is putting on a much better case than Prosecution.
When the facts are against you argue the law.
When the law is against you argue the facts.
When the facts and the law are against you, scream like h***.

Not hard for the defense to put on a better case when both the facts and the law support them. The prosecution has been left with just screaming like h***.

If it’s one thing that this whole affair has once again proven, it’s that we have quite a number of utterly despicable people working for the news media. They may be well educated, they may look nice dressed up in front of a camera, but when it comes down to it, many have zero integrity.

Truly. And because of this, I fear there will be riots and more black on white crime as incited in various tweets, and as already has been happening.

Again, I ask, what has Obama done for his own disenfranchised people?

See my earlier post on this.

From this article: …It’s thanks to a media that continues to maintain the fiction that every case allegedly involving a non-black suspect and a black victim is a test case for American racism. The media pretended that the case against George Zimmerman was unshakeable; it simply wasn’t. There wasn’t just reasonable doubt about whether Zimmerman engaged in self-defense when he shot Martin, there was virtually zero countervailing credible evidence to the proposition that he shot Martin in self-defense. Furthermore, there was literally zero evidence for the proposition that the shooting was racially motivated, or that the police didn’t initially arrest Zimmerman thanks to their institutional racism…

…And so each case with racial overtones becomes another reminder to blacks that the system is out to get them, particularly when largely white media commentators wrongly paint a case as race-based. This means that anytime the media labels a case race-based, Americans are forced to accept the ugly calculus that acquittal, while proper, may result in riots based on perceived institutional wrongs.

Why would the DOJ help paint a negative picture of Zimmerman?

Sounds more like they were stroking the flames than playing the part of peacemaker.
CRS was established by the Civil Rights Act of 1964. According to the CRS web page, “The Community Relations Service is the Department’s ‘peacemaker’ for community conflicts and tensions arising from differences of race, color, and national origin. Created by the Civil Rights Act of 1964, CRS is the only Federal agency dedicated to assist State and local units of government, private and public organizations, and community groups with preventing and resolving racial and ethnic tensions, incidents, and civil disorders, and in restoring racial stability and harmony.”

A Department of Justice spokesperson said that she did not know off the top of her head what CRS’ role was in the anti-Zimmerman protests but is currently trying to figure out that answer. The Daily Caller will update this story upon receiving a statement from DOJ.

At the bond hearing back on April 20th 2012. That isn’t a typo- over a year ago-

The prosecutor’s special investigator stated he had no evidence to contradict Zimmerman’s story or his claim to self-defense. I had assumed the proseuction would present evidence they uncovered subsequent to that hearing since they went forward. Something they didn’t have then that would contradict the claims. I didn’t see them present anything at the trial that they didn’t have then. I was very disappointed in the prosecution’s case.

Weren’t there election in 2012.?Something about the voter turnout and some elements of Obama’s base having become disenchanted with him and predicted to have a lower turnout. Oh, sorry, just musing. It’s not like the DOJ had a record of ignoring their duty to enforce accuracy of the voter rolls re the deceased. Or ignoring complaints of voter disenfranchisment of caucasian groups. Or vigorously going after states trying to ensure integrity of elections via voter eligibility verification.

None of this is surprising,Al Sharpton,Jesse Jackson have become very wealthy fomenting racial angst.Eric Holder and Obama are complicit in this behavior as well.In fact since Obama inserted his opinion into this incident early on,maybe now would be a good time for him to step up and act presidential, quell the flames of unrest before the verdict is revealed.

I will be in Florida next week, and I’m staying as far from Orlando as I can. It could get very bad if he’s aquitted, but I’m praying for calmer heads prevail.

Well Miami is all worked up over it too, I read some typical race baiting stuff that was in the local papers there last week. I’d actually be more worried about Miami than Orlando.

Prosecution for lesser charges as I understand. Manslaughter and aggravated assault.

I think Zimmerman did something stupid. However, I doubt it was criminal, and even if it was, the state doesn’t seem to be able to prove it beyond a reasonable doubt. So they should acquit him, even if he is a suspicious character.

Hindsight is always 20/20.
