What led up to the deadly confrontation? I just happen to align myself with the prosecution that GZ was indeed negligent in allowing himself to get into the confrontation in the first place. Witnesses have already testified that GZ had no reason to get out of his car. More specifically, he could clearly see the addresses from his car and he already knew the name of the street (there are only three streets within the condo complex and GZ was supposed to have been very familiar with them.) GZ also stated to the dispatcher that the f**king punk is getting away, which leads one to believe that he was intent on following TM. This is why I’m saying that GZ is guilty of manslaughter even if his life at some point was in jeopardy.
I will pray that you never are perceived as having provoked a confrontation while performing perfectly legal actions.

Again, the dispatcher stated he believed Zimmerman had lost contact (hence ending the call), the girl on the phone indicated Martin said Z had lost sight, tending to confirm Z didn’t pursue M. Witnesses testified the addresses were difficult to see due to the shrubbery. If you listen to the tape, I tend to believe Z was simply expressing frustration with the rash of burglaries in the neighborhood.

It wall be interesting if this jury is like the OJ jury. That is, once they see the information about Martin’s propensity for fighting that was withheld from them, will the state it would have made a difference?

Again… you have no proof of that… if someone was banging my head against the cement and I had the means to stop it… i’d become a ‘gunslinger’ too.
Again, GZ was very negligent, which would warrant a conviction of manslaughter. I said that he may be a gunslinger who was out for blood over justice. I never implied that I thought he was guilty beyond a reasonable doubt on the second degree murder charge.

Legally in Florida it doesn’t matter what lead up to the confrontation ( not that I agree with your supposition in the first place). Legally all that is required for self defense to apply is Zimmerman himself ( not you, not me) reasonably feared that he was in imminent danger of death or great bodily harm. You don’t even have to have been injured in any way to feel your your in imminent danger.

To him obviously not. sigh Guilty until proven innocent it seems.
Has it occurred to you that Zimmerman was not negligent at all, that he simply acted to save his own life, that he instead might be the deceased if he did not have his weapon with him?

When you begin to profile someone as a “suspect” and talk about these Blanks always getting away you have a mentality as such you should be following no one.
I think Zimmerman was frustrated at the recent rash of crimes in his neighborhood, that is all. While I abhor the use of the f word at all and the CONSTANT use of it by many today, when Zimmerman said “f*** punks,” the use of it seemed like frustration to me. Zimmerman was pretty mild-mannered when he said it, didn’t seem angry, just frustrated.

I don’t know if that means Zimmerman is profiling someone, he sees a person of interest in the apartments.

Suppose Zimmerman didn’t have a gun. Would it make a difference if he had killed Martin by other means? If he’d actually been competent at MMA and crushed Martin’s windpipe? Or had a knife to defend himself instead of a gun?

There was an incident recently in the Los Angeles area. A woman saw some three men panhandling on a public street and took a picture of them. They wanted some money from her. She refused. They killed her. Did she provoke the incident by performing a legal act? Was she stupid for refusing to pay them and therefore deserve to be attacked ? If she’d been armed (thankfully in the LA area the sheriff refuses to provide permits to citizens for self-defense. Only the lives of the politically connected are deemed worthy of defense)
and defended herself, would she then be wrong? Are we really at the point of telling people, just let yourself be killed, your life isn’t worth protecting? You can not do anything which someone else might see as provocation, your guess as to what that might be for every individual you encounter?

It’s wrong to profile, still, Sanford is a very high crime neighborhood, here is a crime that recently happened in South Carolina, at least 2 of the perpetrators wearing hoodies, ages 18, 18 and 16.

I have already posted this comment by Dennis Prager, but I feel it bears repeating. He stated:"profiling without any basis is bigotry.Profiling, based in facts of prior
behavior is just that, profiling. This applies to this incident. GZ was valid in his actions re TM based on past incidents in his neighborhood, break in by black youths.

Well, except Z initially keyed in on it being unusual for someone to be walking in the rain, appearing to peer into windows, wandering vice looking like they’re heading somewhere. He was reacting to behavior, not race at all. He had no indication of race until Martin came closer to the truck and looked at him. Was any of what Martin was doing illegal, no. Zimmerman never said it was, it was unusual enough for him to call the non-emergency line to get the police to come and have them look into it further.

I was just thinking along those very same lines. What if Zimmerman was a black belt in Karate or Tae Kwon Do or whatever and had killed Martin without a weapon? Would that mean that since he was armed with the deadly weapon of skills, he would face charges because he dared to defend himself, fully knowing he had those skills?

Because he got out of his truck, Zimmerman deserved to be attacked and wasn’t supposed to defend himself?

We have a verdict; let’s pray for acceptance and peace no matter what it is.

Law enforcement profiles all the time. If they didn’t they would never catch any criminals. What’s ironic is that Zimmerman was profiled by the media and by the race-baiters.

Conversely, there was a case I read about today–a man punched another man one time, and now the one who was punched is in a coma.

A few weeks ago, a kid punched a referree once and the referee died.

What would we all be saying if Martin had hit Zimmerman in a way that killed Zimmerman?

LOL.

Seriously, this was also a point brought up on HLN last night. GZ did not break any law by getting out of his car. He’s been put on trial for many invented “crimes.” If he were guilty of all of the invented crimes all together, that sum does not equal Murder.
👍 I agree. And the verdict just came in. Not guilty.

To all, thank you for the discussion. My apologies to any I might have offended, please do not take disagreement to mean I did not respect your opinions. I did value the perspectives of all here. I will join you in prayers for peace.

Thanks again,
