Hmmm. I was on BAC’s side in this until I read this. Is it true that they’ve argued that they’re not a a religious institution and accepted government funding? That throws a whole monkey wrench into the whole thing.
On the other hand, this woman is beyond arrogant. “A small minority (less than 10%) of Catholics have a problem with contraception.” News flash, lady: Only ONE Catholic, and his name is Benedict, has to have a “problem” with contraception and a Catholic institution then has every right, no, OBLIGATION, not to cover it in their health plan. The Church isn’t a democracy.
News flash #2: Pregnancy is not a “health problem” like prostate trouble. If the health plan covered condoms and vasectomies, then you’d have an argument.
BAC needs to give all the government money back and proudly define itself as a religious institution.
