Sure they will. But what do people expect to hear from the NRA, a long winded diatribe about how the shooter didn’t follow gun safety rules. 🤷
 
The NRA is being appropriately silent. None of these people is using their brain right now; it’s all just emotion with zero connection to reality. Anything they say will be turned into “The NRA is DEFENDING the killer!!” or some other lie.

This morning NPR made a point to comment on the absence of any response from the NRA on this tragedy. :rolleyes:

That is because NPR and other court media, and the state believe we should not be able to own guns and must justify our ownership in response to tragedies. Of course there thinking is silly. Do they expect AAA to comment on every big, multi-vehicle crash on an interstate? Do they report when they dont? Of course not.

I agree with this 100%.

The NRA has nothing to do with these shootings. They’re a group that support proper education about guns and gun safety. What exactly are the protesters expecting them to say?

I swear, it’s like half+ of our population doesn’t even bother turning their brains on in the morning.
 
They are damned if they do and damned if they don’t. The NRA was vilified when it spoke out after Columbine. So they probably have decided not to be easy targets.
 
Let’s have Barack and Nancy expose the depth and breadth of Treasury’s ATF gun running under their watch via “Fast & Furious” and related gun grants to drug overlords. Was it to give their secret allies a boost? Treasury’s IRS is dumping billions on these same drug cartels via relaxed tax refund fraud guidelines. We are to judge by what they do, not what they say. The NAZI’s were spawned in the aftermath of “The Great War” by arming and financing the sludge of society. Hitler seized all private arms. Are we (heading) there yet? Joe, where is the “never forget”?

Anybody have a flash mob in their neighborhood? I did. Party got seriously out of hand. 2nd Amendment looks pretty good in that context.

Sigh, ok I’ll say it: the NRA is far more than you say here. It is a powerful political lobby that has ever agitated for more expansive gun ownership rights, and less regulation and easier access to firearms of all types. This isn’t about taking away everyone’s guns. It’s about regulating better to prevent easy access to weapons of war for the mentally deranged. Hunting rifles and handguns are one thing, the Bushmaster .223 that this guy used to massacre children is something else. It is a military-grade assault rifle pure and simple. No one needs this kind of killing machine, not for personal protection and certainly not for sport. It should not be available for general sale to the public, anymore than are rocket or grenade launchers.

2 very simple questions:
  1. what makes the Bushmaster an “military-grade assault rifle”?
  2. Does the 2nd Amendment mention “Hunting”?
I think alot of the debate on the gun control side is based on a lack of understanding.

Outlawing something doesn’t make it go away or unavailable. Ask methheads and killers.

Or ask Timothy McVeigh, or Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold (Columbine massacre). One killed 168 people without using a gun, while the other two committed a mass shooting during the time period “assault weapons” were banned (with mainly non-banned weapons).
