The “equality” that liberals these days yearn for is to make all people uniformly the same in ability and opportunity, and they have been trying to apply this idea to the Catholic Church and its concept of the priesthood.
Dear “lord”,
What you fail to understand or appreciate left you. You have zero capacity to honor thy mother OR thy father living out cartoon world views robbing womankind her worth and relegating motherhood to a vow of poverty. Blaming liberals for your own guilt- we already know how master manipulators operate. Hide behind my skirt at your own peril. Zero tolerance for cowards.

Clearly you’re a defective female for failure to lactate. That will be the new benchmark for all values since womankind is the majority wanting the whole world all to themselves self worshiping in the mirror. The world should rebuke, humiliate and punish you in eternal hellfire sanctioned by God. Suppose that would work any better than the self worshiping rubbish you’ve got going on in your head now?

ROFL at the emperor with no clothes ‘birthing’ atheists and brainwashing children into blind obedience. Let us PREY. The smoke of Satan indeed! Aren’t there enough white daughters in the morgue at the hands of white supremacy? Try as you may, you’ll never get the bravery off my face. It belongs to God. Always did. Always will.

Faux conservatives conscripting Catholics to serve dixiecrats shredding America to pieces for a can of Koch? When hell freezes over.

I have no idea what she is trying to say? Can somone translate?

That’s quite a rant. I can’t tell which side of the issue you are on. 🤷

But what is TYVM?
Wow, I am so glad you posted this…notice I removed my post. I wasn’t sure which way to respond.🤷

But yea, TYVM???:o

A nun and priest are not the same though. The priest is more of a leadership position. So if that’s what they want, that’s what they will go for.
Precisely! Because the duties and responsibilities are very different. If a nun is not the same and it is hard to get women to be nuns, what on earth makes those pushing for female priests have in mind or planned out to get them into the priesthood? A priest is more than just a leader and it has nothing to do with just wanting leadership.

I cannot…except that this is an obviously troubled person. Why so much hate? It makes me sad to read these posts…😦
The last few days this person has been posting pretty similar stuff. . .you’re right, it is sad.

I’m guessing that TYVM is 'thank you very much"?

The issue of female ordination has beset the Roman Catholic church for decades. But increasingly, the Vatican is facing a revolt on the issue, even as it cracks down.

On three continents: Europe, Australia and America, outspoken Catholic priests are defying this strict Vatican tenet. In the U.S., a longstanding American is this one more test for Holy See.

Or, is the church facing a revolt that my force dissenters to the fore?

This hour On Point: Rome, and the challenge to expand the priesthood.

Guests:

Eileen Di Franco, a member of the group Roman Catholic Womenpriests, she was ordained as a priest in 2006 and has a Masters in Divinity.

Rev. Roy Bourgeois, a priest for 39 years with the Maryknoll Order.

Pia de Solenni, a corresponding member of the Pontifical Academy of St. Thomas Aquinas in Rome, she received her doctorate in sacred theology summa cum laude from the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross, Rome.
The dissenters will most likely be excommunicated for heresy, attempting to celebrate a false mass or ordination. The Church has been very clear about the teachings of this and have closed the book on it. Should it ever attempt to rise above the Church, the true Church will hold fast to the ancient teachings found both in the Catholic and Orthodox Church. Eileen Di Franco is excommunicated by the very nature of her attempt to be baptized, until she repents and confesses her sin. The degree is not what makes the ordained deacon, priest or bishop. It’s the sacrament. Just as a man and a man can not be joined in the sacrament of Holy Matrimony [aka marriage], neither can a woman be ordained to anything but her ego.

Dear friends,
This is the final section. Please note that I am coming in peace. I took a few days to write and draft these points. Many people made various comments to my original post and to save time, I wanted to comment on them as something general without attacking anyone’s point of view. If anything thinks I have been harsh please accept my apology. Since this is a public forum, we have the right to be honest and share our ideas in a civil God following manner. Below are my last two points.

Peace,
SG

Did you really not know that the Catholic Church no way, no how supports ordination of women before you entered the Church, or did you stay quiet about it so you could become Catholic?
That is an attack on my character because you do not know my story. The fact that I support women ordination should not be attacked. My opinions should at least be respected because I am not alone with this idea. I admit I am new, plus I grew up with two amazing women ministers so my point of view is more broad than those who grew up inside the church. I am allowed to have my opinions. That is my right! For the record, my spiritual directors were aware of my struggles, it was through deep intense discerning that I became Catholic and no one has the right to question it’s authenticy.
**
There are many obvious differences between the sexes. To assume that these differences might not as a rule make men better priests is without warrant. The denominations that have allowed women pastors have not experienced great growth as a result of this supposedly liberating decision. In fact they are all in decline.**

Provide me with examples. I ask because its been my experience that gender does not dictate if a church is growing or dying. There are some Catholic and Pentecostal churches (in Quebec Pentecostal women senior pastors are scarce ) congregations go both ways: some are growing while others are dying. There are other churches who have women ministers which are maintaining and/or whose congregation is also growing. Other factors dictate whether a church is growing include whether or not the church has a welcoming attitude, good location, open to the holy spirit, approachable minister, caring community, programs that encourage church involvement and a strong prayerful structure. I’m sorry gender doesn’t determine a church’s success. If it did, the churches who had only male ministers would be growing and the women’s churches would be dying and closing its doors.
Dear friend in Christ,
I am very sad to hear that you have been poorly catechized. Holding such a view can be periloous to not only your salvation, but the salvation of those that you mislead as a result of false teaching. The Church is very clear on this subject and your RCIA director and priest should never have allowed you to enter the church while holding such views, IMHO. This is a heresy taught by dissenters that should be opposed at every mention. This is the same false teaching that comes form the same folks shoving same sex unions down our throat. There is no holiness in accepting this position. Our opinion bears no consequences on the teachings of the Church. If you understood what sacred tradition is, then you’d have understood that when you came into the Church.

Many prayers for you and all that fall short of the glory of God, us.

🙂
I read with laughter:) at your comments on women ordain to be priest:cool:
I am please being a woman to be able to serve GOD in many ways as HE leads
Maybe if Book of Timothy shows what Paul regards women to be quiet ,& submissive a character to be observed at all generations…👍
I thank GOD for priest s with an image of Christ !!!:clapping::bowdown:

Guess we women have extraordinary gifts!!!:rotfl:
We bring forth offsprings …we have extra organs & able to nurture babes …Definitely we are born as what we are…But many still want to change gender???
Not possible unless you believe in reincarnation!!!👍
And I am a man and I want to get pregnant and give birth to a child !! And I want to be the Holy Mary ! And I want to be Mother Theresa of Calcutta.

By the way, I want to be Jesus Christ.

I want, I want, I want. As if ordination of woman priests depended on the wantings of the women or men.

I am amazed at the curriculum of the quote women: “Master”, “Summa cum Laude”, as if this would give them more curriculum to be priests. The Apostles were fishermen and the seers in Fatima little ignorant shepherds.

Why some women think that to be a priest is an honor or a position more elevated than the position where women are puzzles me. Is it the boring task of hearing for hours the same sins in confession? Is it preparing a sermon and preaching to an audience that is looking at the watch and thinking what lunch will be? Is it the lights and glimmer of worn out vestments, hot in the middle of Summer, Cold in Winter, and not practical at all?

It is a puzzle for me. I think Feminism should be left where it belongs. The Church is not democracy, it is Royalty and our King is Jesus Christ, who chose to be the Mother of God … a woman !!!

‘Women in authority reflect men in deception.’

Read that quote today from a book on ‘Cleopatra’.

Never is a long time. I’m old enough to remember the time of no altar girls. And I know of women who have been allowed to stand/sit in place of an Apostle on Holy Thursday in a Catholic church and have their feet washed. 🤷
Perhaps you need to talk to your priest or your bishop.

Wow, what part of never going to happen do people not understand? Just because the priest in a particular place has not a clue does not mean it is right. And let’s all remember that a priest who causes one to sin is in a whole lot more trouble than the rest of us.

Women becoming priests? It ain’t gonna happen.
ask.com/wiki/In_persona_Christi

In persona Christi is a Latin phrase meaning “in the person of Christ,” an important concept in Roman Catholicism and, in varying degrees, to other Christian traditions. An extended term, In persona Christi capitis, “in the person of Christ the head,” was introduced in the Catechism of the Catholic Church.

Roman Catholic Understanding

In Roman Catholicism, the priest acts in the person of Christ in pronouncing the words that comprise part of a sacramental rite. For example, in the Mass, the Words of Institution, by which the bread becomes the Body of Christ and the wine becomes the Precious Blood. The priest and bishop act in the person of Christ the head in their leadership of the Church.

Since the priest is standing in for Christ, how on earth does a woman do that? She can’t.

Thus, the sacraments are efficacious — that is, they give the grace they signify — because the true minister is always Christ.
Why is this still an issue?

I don’t want female priests. Jesus didn’t want female priests or he would have chosen 6 men and 6 women for apostles.

A Priest acts in the PERSONA OF CHRIST, a woman can’t do this.

My diocese is like the only one with NO female altar servers and our seminary is usually full. How many other dioceses can say that?

Female priests would not solve the crisis we have with a shortage.

Its NOT about Serving GOD. Its about POWER! How many traditionally minded women are in these groups? NONE, most likely. They are more likely to be filled with liberal, call to action types than traditional types.

I don’t know if there is a correlation, but I don’t like women on the altar at all. It’s feels wrong.

I can’t say anything but this…I was put on notice and chastised for far less…far less and what I said actually made sense and was true.

Nothing would be obvious to anyone who made careers being oblivious.
Oblivious of who, or what? Please help me understand your point, if there is one. Use PM if you feel it is more appropriate there.

What is your career? Wishing for the imposible to become possible?

I lived in a former diocese where the sisters had alot of voice and power, and their mindset of having women ordination permeated so much at that time.

My daughter was about 8 years old and she wondered why nuns wanted to become priests, but no priests wanted to become nuns.

Did you point out to her the obvious fact that the female equivalent of “priest” is not “nun” but “monk”?

I’ve been trying to stay out of this because I’ve been over and over the issue and it gets nowhere, but the repeated claim that women’s ordination is just driven by “political” agendas is simply false. The issue is a theological one, and the case for women’s ordination is rooted in the orthodox doctrine of the Incarnation and in traditional Christian anthropology. The arguments I hear from Catholics against women’s ordination break with that anthropology in order to protect a practice whose original rationale (that women are biologically inferior and lack the “ruling faculty”) is now accepted by very few.

If this is puzzling to folks, I can go over it one more time. But if you’d just rather no, that’s fine too.

I’ve admired your restraint. Imagine me, if the subject was Henry.

…uh, what? I’m sorry, but your “response” sounded completely unintelligible. Let me see if I understood you correctly…

I simply pointed out what I saw to be an obvious truth regarding the mindset behind many people who oppose the teaching of the Catholic Church on this issue. Where that drivel in your post came from, I don’t know, but I don’t see how it even slightly pertained to my post.

And I think you somehow misinterpreted my gender from my post: I’m a 19-year-old male. I apologize if some of the language in my post was ambiguous - I thought it was pretty obvious when I said I was a man. Unless you’re insulting me by claiming I am somehow a woman, which is mighty uncharitable of you…but then again, reflecting on the language of your recent replies, the whole thing sounds pretty uncharitable, so it would unfortunately be in keeping with your previous behavior.

You referenced a supposed inability by me to honor my parents. Well, ma’am, I don’t know where you’re coming from on this, but I’ll have you know that I think my parents are wonderful examples (for the most part), I believe they’ve done a great job of bringing me up to respect motherhood and fatherhood, and I try my best to honor them according to Christ’s teachings. I happen to think that motherhood is an amazing gift from God to women, and it is a gift that only they can have. And what is this nonsense about hiding behind your skirt? I’m perfectly happy standing up for my beliefs, even the ones like “female ordination”, and I have no intention of hiding behind anyone’s skirt. And what guilt do you speak of? Allow me to say, too, that your last sentence made no sense whatsoever, much like many of the others. Please explain yourself.

From the sound of it, though, you didn’t even read my entire post. I would advise you to go back, read it carefully, and then compose a calm, clearly and intelligently worded response so I can understand exactly what your issue with me is. Until then, may God bless you, and I hope you find peace in your heart. From what I’ve seen, you need it.
