Blue holes in the Bahamas got me thinking, they are collapsed caves, and caves only form above water, yes?. Blue hole caves can be nearly 400 feet deep - which to me would mean sea levels were at least 400 feet lower at some time. By 20,000 years ago, then, sea levels had dropped to a level 120 metres (400 feet) below the level it is today. By 10,000 years ago, when our stone-age relatives were exploring north-western europe the sea levels had risen slowly but were still a possible 230 feet or so below what they are today. It is estimated that the sea levels then rose the remaining 200 or so feet over a period of just a few decades, just 10,000 years ago.
Now, a few minutes down the road from me I can walk around stone age burial mounds which are about 4000 years old, so I wonder could those people have remembered stories of the time of the great inundation 5000 or 6000 years before, why not, egyptian culture, stories and the arts survived 5000 years?
Maybe?

Blue holes are flooded caves with an entrance just below sea-level, this one is 400 feet deep. Caves form above sea-level.

Heres an artists  impression of flood levels roughly to scale, just to give an idea of the …well, scale of the water rise. The base of the picture represents sea-level 10,000 years ago, the top of the picture where Noahs ark is represents the sea level a few decades later, say in 9,070 years ago. The level to the present day. The black lines represent ‘6 feet heights’, theres a six-foot guy (grey smudge) standing at the bottom and part of Noahs ark at the top, its about 45 feet in height.
The water depth is 230 feet and according to geological sources the water rose 230 feet in a few decades, (in other words during the lifetime of the six-foot guy at the bottom), which is a pretty quick rise for a flood that size!
