I would monitor and curb any deviant sexual behavior she may be having with her girlfriend.

“If your brother sins, go and show him his fault in private; if he listens to you, you have won your brother.” Matthew 18:15
Are children brothers and sisters of the people who God Himself assigned as their parents? 😶 Makes no sense to me.

When trying to understand these verses, note that the term “brother” (Greek: adelphos ) has a wide meaning in the Bible

However I would say it might imply a lesser relationship than that of a parent and a child. If that is the case, and we are commanded to show those other related people their faults, even more so we should do it to those closest to us such as our parents or children.

She is sixteen. I can not tell you the amount of girls that said they were bi when I was in high school. Many of those same people are now happily married to men And have children. It is a phase.

You don’t know how to supervise a child?

The same way you would if she were 16 and had a boyfriend. You would have rules and enforce them.

It is natural to think they will “rebel harder” if corrected, but that’s too bad. A parent’s job isn’t always to make the child feel good, but to be good.
This heavy handed approach only works until they’re 18 at which time they might leave and never talk again to a parent they felt was unjustly “correcting” them. Or they might just run away before they’re 18. A huge proportion of homeless youth are LGBT. I know gay men who haven’t talked to their fathers in decades because they felt rejected and not accepted.

My 13 yr old daughter told me last year, at age 12, that she is pansexual and has a crush on a girl. I 100% believe it is not sexual at this point, but probably just admiration. She has very low self esteem and is a tomboy. Both my pastor and a counselor have told me to wait this out as this may not be her true identity. I pray the Rosary daily for her and give her to Our Lady…and love her tons.
