Our Lady of Good Success & question for traditionalists

Hello,

I have a couple of questions regarding Our Lady of Good Success,

I have noticed that traditionalists tend to favor/like, have a devotion to Our Lady of Good Success, is there a particular reason for that?

Also, I wonder why Mother Maria de Jesus Torres is not a saint yet? What do you think?

She is the Nun involved with the apparition, right?

Can you please tell me more about Our Lady of Good Success, and how have you incorporated a devotion to her into your daily life.

Also, what do you know about her visions, prophesies, etc.?

In case anyone is wondering, this is an approved apparition.

And I do not mean any offense by including the term tradionalists in my title;) I just wanted to make sure it stays in the Traditional forum. I hope this does not cause the usual arguments:o. Please :gopray2: I am sure that people who do not attend the TLM/EF Mass also have a devotion to our Lady of Good Success. I just noticed that traditional web sites tend to favor a devotion to her 😉

I’m not up to Our Lady of Good Success yet in my studies. That will be covered in Catholicism 501 and I’m only up to 201. 😃

The revelations of Our Lady of Good Success and devotion to Her miraculous Statue have been approved by the Catholic Church since the beginning. It was the 9th Bishop of Quito, Salvador de Ribera, who attested in official documents to the miraculous completion of the Statue by St. Francis of Assisi and the three Archangels – St. Michael, St. Gabriel and St. Raphael – and presided over the anointing of the solemn consecration of the Statue in the Church of the Royal Convent of the Immaculate Conception on February 2, 1611. The devotion and apparitions were also authorized and promoted by the next Bishop of Quito, Pedro de Oviedo, who governed the Diocese from 1630 to 1646. Thus this devotion has enjoyed the support and approval of the Church since its very beginning.

There are amazing prophecies from this apparation that apply to our time. It is definitely worthy of study and approved by the Church.
 
Your source for the statement of approval is a woman who is selling merchandise.

Where is the statement of approval from a bishop?

It doesn’t exist because the “apparitions” are not approved.

If I provide a link that says I’m the King of Saturn, does that make it true?

It is neither approved (i.e. deemed worthy of belief) by the local Bishop nor Rome.
You claim otherwise so can you please direct us to either the local Bishop’s declaration or the CDF in Rome’s declaration. Without either it is not approved.

Well, Pope Paul V thought he approved of Our Lady of Good Success in 1606. Here are a couple of links:

Since you all seem to be so convinced that this is an unapproved apparition, maybe you should contact all these places and let them know they are wrong. You also might want to contact Our Lady of Good Success Academy in Farmingville, New York and let them know they are using the name of an unapproved apparition. Here is their website:

Last but not least, you might want to contact the people who run this website, catholic.com, and let them know. They do not allow discussion of unapproved apparitions on this site, so since they are letting us discuss it, they must also think it is an approved apparition.

That wasn’t an approval per se. No investigation was done and no formal declaration was made.
If there no investigation and no formal declaration by the local Bishop or by the CDF then it is not approved.

By the way we are not discussing an unapproved apparition. We are discussing whether it has been approved or not. That is different. If you start discussing content of unapproved private revelations then the thread will be closed.
 
Hey Brooklyn, some people would complain if they were “hung with a new rope” 😃

And others are so tied up with Legal proofs that reality passes them by. All Marian Aparitions are either approved or not. And you can believe them or not, even the approved ones.

Saying “it’s approved by the Bishop” is quite easy to do. Actually, being approved by the Bishop it another thing entirely.

If anyone wants to look into what else Miss Horvat says they’ll find she claims:

-The Ordinary Form of the Mass is intrinsically evil.
-Bl. John Henry Cardinal Newman was not really beatified.
-Sr. Lucia, the Fatima seer, was replaced with a body double by the Vatican.

I think you will understand, if I and others don’t take her word as the sole authority for approving some claimed apparition.

Do you think I made up the school in New York that is named after our Lady of Good
Success? Do you think I made up the fact that she is the patroness of a diocese in the Philippines? Do you think I made up her feast day - February 2? You obviously don’t like facts very much.

I am still waiting for proof that what I have posted is not true. Your arguments have nothing to do with the facts I have presented. I am not presenting my own authority. I have presented a good amount of proof for what I have said.

I gave you several links showing Pope Pius V approved of it back at the time of the apparitions. If you don’t want to accept this apparition, that is your choice. It is a private revelation. But it is blatantly false to say it is not approved by the Church.
