To quote the old Who song, “Meet the new boss same as the old boss.”
Americans will be fooled again, and again, and again. Americans love the dog and pony show these parties put on but at the end of the day the same silliness is packaged with a little different wrapper and the band plays on.
While the ship goes head down…

Who I want and who will most likely be the republican candidate are two separate issues. So,My vote goes to Romney, because removing Obama from office should be every republicans’ and every disaffected Democrats’ main objective.😉 I might add,in my opinion,it should be every Catholics’ objective as well!

If the angry man in the White House is re-elected, his transformation of America will be complete—into one more destitute socialist nation whose citizens will be left to die under socialized medicine. I guess $5T in fresh crushing debt over 3 years isn’t enough to convince you that this guy is destroying YOUR children’s future, and what is left of our Constitution. To me, anyone who votes for Obama is horrifyingly naive, at best.:eek::eek: Rob
What a wonderful example of classic right-wing hyperbole!

Barack Obama is not an angry man. If he were, he would never have earned the nickname “No-Drama-Obama” or enjoy a personal approval rating that is nearly 20 points higher than Mitt Romney. In both style and rhetoric he is notable for his charm and compassion.

**Barack Obama wants to transform the United States to reflect the principles upon which this nation has been built. ** The ideals of the founding fathers are terrific, but it has been a 236 year process to put them into practice for anyone who is not born a rich white man.

Tell the thirty million Americans who lack adequate medical care because they cannot get health insurance what it means to be left to die. The United States is the only first world country that does not provide universal health care - and the health of our population ranks far below those nations that provide socialized medicine. The infant mortality rate is higher in the United States than it is in Cuba (US ranks 34th among the list of nations).

The damage done by Republican supply-side economics and the Great Recession has created an uncertain future for the American middle class.
It has produced the greatest income disparity in our nation since the late 19th century, has filled the coffers of the very rich, and sucked all the wealth out of the middle class. The Republican party wants MORE OF THAT :eek::eek: I say, NO THANK YOU.

I don’t know why anyone would believe the right-wing rhetoric of “haves” and “soon to haves” - you’re never going to “have” anything if the Republican puppet-masters have their way. Ayn Rand is their messiah and that means they absolutely reject the concept of social justice

Honestly I am not terribly excited about any of the Republican candidates but of those running I favor Rick Santorum.

To put in bluntly I am in the “anyone but Obama” camp. Yes, I am cynical enough to believe that for the most part politicians never keep many of the promises the make while campaigning for election. Yet I think one would be hard pressed to find an example of a candidate who has done so little to keep his grandiose pre-election promises as our current president. The only changes we have seen were changes a good many Americans didn’t want.

I believe I can understand why people voted for the president the first time around but I can’t for the life of me understand why anyone but died in the wool liberals who care only about seeing a Democrat elected would vote for him again. I’m tired of his apology campaign, his fiscal irresponsibility, and his socialist agenda. I can take care of myself without government intrusion into every aspect of my life.

Thanks for the comedy, I needed it this morning.

Thanks for the comedy, I needed it this morning.
Seriously. Social justice is just code for “steal money from people who we deem have too much and give it to people who don’t deserve it so that they will vote for us”.

Mitt Romney is the most pro-choice candidate to ever run for the Republican nomination and Catholics on this forum who claim to be pro-life seen content to ignore the fact that he is responsible for the law that provides unrestricted taxpayer funded abortion in Massachusetts. **Right now, today - taxpayers in Massachusetts are paying for babies to be killed before they can be born, because of a bill Mitt Romney signed into law. **
And your President Obama is all for tax payer funded elective abortions, so please explain your outrage.
**Catholics **are also supposed to be champions of social justice, but the Republican party has abandoned any pretense of a social responsibility to care for the poor in their 2012 “Ryan budget” that guts essential social programs for women and children in order to give tax breaks to the wealthy.
, Yes, Catholics, not the government. And there plenty of wealthy Democrats getting tax breaks too. I could help the poor a lot more if I didn’t have to pay so much taxes to a bureaucratic crony government.
Catholics are supposed to stand in solidarity with one another, but the Republican party opposes sensible immigration reforms like the Dream Act which would provide a path to citizenship for undocumented residents (many of whom are Catholic) who were brought to the US as children and know no other nation or culture.
This has been done under Reagan, and it doesn’t work.
Catholics are supposed to champion respect and dignity for workers, but the Republican party has launched a war on unions and the right of workers to collective bargaining.
Unions don’t help workers. They are a front for the Democratic party.
Catholics are supposed to oppose torture, unjust wars, and the death penalty. Yet all of these methods of coercion and death are championed by the Republican party.
The so-called “torture” of one or two Islam extremists who want to kill us all trumps the murder of millions of innocent babies? Did you know that our servicemen are also subject to waterboarding (and gassing) as part of their training.

And for your information, there are a lot of Republicans who are against the death penalty.

Keeping the death penalty choice is not part of the Republican platform. Keeping abortion legal is part of the Democratic platform.
There is no “abortion trumps everything” card for Republican supporters in this election - Mitt Romney has done more to expand abortion rights then Obama ever has. Mitt Romney has the blood of thousands of babies on his hands. Obama does not.
And now Obama will see to it that abortion rights will be expanded to cover the entire country. His pro-abortion ideology has already expanded to foreign nations by his repeal of the Mexico City Policy.
Hatred is not a Catholic value. Hatred fueled by lies and distortions is certainly not a Catholic value. Yet this is the game Republican puppet-masters are so deft at playing and “more pious than thou” social conservatives are so quick to embrace.
Who is hate filled here? We hate Obama’s policies, not the man. In our mass, we pray for President Obama every day. There are plenty of rosary intentions as well.
I don’t get it either. 🤷
Agree

I agree. The government’s job is allow its citizens the freedom to pick which social justice causes they care to support.

Seems to me that so far all of the negative replies to my posts have been glaringly lacking in anything one would call “substance”. I guess that must mean nobody really has anything good to say in defense of Romney or the extreme right-wing ideology that has hijacked what was once the “Grand Old Party”.

Give us an example of “extreme right-wing ideology”.

Followed by classic leftist hyperbole.

:rotfl:
I have just to the conclussion that leftist just see the ideology of state control of everything is “normal”, so any position that counters this is “extremely right wing”.

Listen to leftists talk. You would swear that all of the money that is made in the world belongs to the government, and you should be thankful that they let you keep a portion of it. I mean, how can the state manage its -]peasants/-]…citizens if it allows them to keep too much of their hard earned money?

Even though the charges themselves aren’t substantive.

You must be referring to your previous post #87. 👍

As they say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
**Barack Obama wants to transform the United States to reflect the principles upon which this nation has been built. **
One of which was limited powers.
The ideals of the founding fathers are terrific, but it has been a 236 year process to put them into practice for anyone who is not born a rich white man.
Tell that to Herman Cain.

How are they going to afford insurance under the mandate? They still are being forced to buy a product they cannot afford.

Under Obama, more people have lost job, are on food stamps and other government subsidies.

I am NOT better off than four years ago.
I don’t know why anyone would believe the right-wing rhetoric of “haves” and “soon to haves” - you’re never going to “have” anything if the Republican puppet-masters have their way.
There are plenty of Democrat “haves” that have been rewarded by Obama’s policies
Ayn Rand is their messiah and that means they absolutely reject the concept of social justice
This Republican’s Messiah is Jesus.
What a wonderful example of classic -]right/-] left-wing hyperbole!

As Governor of Massachusetts, Romney would have known how health care funding worked in the state and that abortions would be covered. He could have done two things:
  1. Veto the bill
  2. Disavow the bill
He has done neither.
Romney had no power to end abortion coverage, it existed before RomneyCare.
